Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

DW struggling to be relevant

Did anyone read/listen to the earnings call? DW had to practically force himself into the conversations several times. The Investors simply seem to not care what he thinks. Must be a big ego check for him to sit there and not be relevant and have to constantly interject, “Let me just add to that and say….”. Probably more PiPs coming so he’ll have something to talk about next quarter.

My holdings are well enough that I can retire comfortably from ExxonMobil at 55. I’m not the only one able to do this. This company has been very good to myself and my family. (Third Generation).

Maybe if some of you would quit spending so much time about how bad you have it and actually do some real work you could see the benefit. There is no “participation trophy” in O&G.

Maybe it’s just you.

@1nuj+1pkrlvsD Another example of not understanding the numbers. What's his holding now then if he's up 20% on his HOLDING? I guess he's only got 1 share now and he's made 20 dollars ytd by prudent trading...?

Some real management upsiding going on here today! 😁

Not smart enough to understand what buying/selling the dips mean.

This explains a lot.

Hopefully you are not employed with ExxonMobil.

'I am up 20% on my @XOM stock this year' - cool story bro.

Impossible since it's only around 2%currently ytd, and the maximum was only +20% ytd.

I am up 20% on my @XOM stock this year by buying/selling the dips. The dividend is just lagniappe. I am well in my way to retiring at 55 with 30 years of service with ExxonMobil.

You just keep buying those scratch offs and complaining about a good thing.

@Stock Holder:
$0.95 dividend is only 3.6% return that comes with lots of risk. A simple google search will find you savings accounts with over 5% return with basically no risk if you spread your money across multiple banks.
But hey, if you’re happy with low returns and high risk, you could drive to Louisiana and pull some levers on the slot machines too.

Daily reminder that layoffs used to be considered an absolute failure. And DW gave himself a pay raise when he became CEO. And execs took double stock during 2020 (which turned into huge bonuses) while peons lost retirement match.

Eat the rich era has begun, and no we dont mean u, steven, making 300k 😒

@1sxb+1pkrlvsD umm how about because that's lower yield than an easy access savings account?

Most questions were directed to Neil. Acquisition of Pioneer dominated questions. Investors likely think that it was Neil who made the deal. I worked with Neil before and he is the only one I trust at C-Suite

As most folks know, the superb profits are due solely to the outstanding leadership of DW and buddies in the C-suite. That of course includes the amazing dudes from Engine No 1.

Neither oil prices not refining and chemical margins matter.

Can't wait to see these axxholes outsourced too! Until they know what it feels like they will continue to betray Americans and base everything on greed!

OP, the investors aren't stupid. They know perfectly well the damage Darren's done to this corporation. They know that Darren's hollowed out this company. The company has no more advantaged technology of any kind because he piped all the engineers making things happen. Now ExxonMobil must hire whoever comes through the door and hope this person can keep things running without exploding. The investors are just trying to time their exit. Do I dump ExxonMobil stock now or in six months? That's the question they have in mind. Whatever Darren says is irrelevant to them.

Or everyone loves to hear their own voice, even if it adds no value to the discussion. A quality trait at ExxonMobil.
