Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

No letter? Don't worry, it's not worth waiting for.

Terms are laughable. A nominal amount that won't even begin to cover moving expenses. NO help with selling your house, NO help with moving services. What a joke! It's clear they don't want us in Houston. No, thank you, I will be "better together at another company".

They think they found a loophole in the layoffs with this relo bs. We’re not stupid. I’m getting my resume together as we speak. Hope it’s not too late.

Just a RIF disguised as a relo.

The letter is certainly designed to persuade the lower employees to take the severance. I highly doubt they will backfill every position that was asked to relocate.

Anyone who takes the relocation is taking a risk for a company that simply isn't worth it anymore. Better hope you really like Houston, or can easily bounce from place to place.

The Crown we know and love is gone. Count your losses and move on. There is life after Crown.

@1ucx+1pjGDP9m Please don’t say they are wrong. They are in a different situation. Those at the lower pay grades get next to no assistance with relocation. Why would they? In their minds, lower paid employees are even easier to replace.

@1unu+1pjGDP9m I wholeheartedly agree. If you read the details, you are better off leaving; especially financially

Also, those that relo are going to be stuck picking up the slack for those that leave and will have to train the up to 1,300 new employees they promise to replace the existing headcount with.

Everything in my offer was what they outlined. I’m not saying the relo is great but they do provide assistance with those things and your post is totally wrong.

The severance in my letter is far more appealing than the relocation benefit. It’s an absolute no brainer. They’re begging us to leave. Take them up on it… you don’t want to be left holding the bag when they start losing people with out money to offer a package.

Correct me if I’m wrong but, I thought the standard relocation package paid for your belongings to be moved. I thought the 10,000 was an enhancement to their standard relocation package.

That's interesting. The high level manager on a team call I was on a week ago went on about the very generous relocation package being offered, service to help sell your house, etc. I was thinking, yeah right, that is probably YOUR relocation package, not the one's most of us will see. The cynical part of me believes that the poor relocation package is designed to make the decision for you...not to move. Crown, but mostly Jay & EMT su-kles.
