HR email came in right before east coast could sign off. Return starting January 10th, completed by Jan 31st (with a few exceptions returning in February).

@hla+1edxDIfV, source?? I’ve heard nothing of the kind and am thinking you made all that up. I’m a manager and every one of my team + MY manager are all in different locations. I have enough on my plate with actual work and escalating prior RTO-related problems to add a headache like coordinating my team’s days in office to my plate. Lol - NOT gonna happen!

This is how it works. You -if you do not sit with your team- or your manager have to coordinate days you'll be in office with the other groups crammed in to your area - to make sure there are no over flows. You or they may have to use a Connections cube if there are conflicts. You will have set days in and out of office - it won't be a 'I guess I will go in today' type of situation. It will be more like 'I am in office Mon/Tues this week, and Mon/Tues/Wed next week'.

Yeah and what happens on January 10 when everyone shows up and there are not enough desks?

In the 3/2 model, what days are you supposed to go in? Are they hard set or do you have freedom to choose? What happens if everyone chooses to go in on say a Wednesday and there are not enough desks?

Incompetence abounds here.

Clarity for things like: how many days a week will my specific group be required to go in? They still haven't told us if it's 3, 4, or all 5. (Various groups have various requirements here, but my group has continued to drag its feet in deciding this.)

Also, the COO's email says "...will BEGIN to return starting on Jan. 10 and will have a transition period to fully complete their return to office"

So while tech has been kind enough to be specific that means Jan 10, others are still waiting to find out if there will be a staggered return and if that impacts them.

Sure I'll plan for Jan 10th, but knowing for certain is a gift. And knowing how many days a week is even more important. RTO for my group has been "you'll get details later" on all my outstanding questions for a year now and the uncertainty around all the policies (not just the date) is stressful.

At least you have clarity. Based on the email, I asked how my group is impacted and the answer was "we're figuring it out." Which means we'll get a last minute notification on what our expectations are.
