Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

To all the <40year old; this is why you should leave

You have no future unless your defined as a Snr Executive potential which is CL38. Anything less than that and you will be placed in good roles (but not the best assignments) but always seen as second (or third best). s&D have been instructed to only develop the careers of CL38 and the lower cost technical centers to help develop their pipeline of leaders. If you are a POT34, seriously think about leaving as you will just be frustrated

Some times managers will tell you like roles which correspond to the POT. Cl34 is everything below LCM. CL38 is a senior executive so VP plus. 40 is President level, 42 is MC and I believe CEO is 44

@njc+1w0vzVYT, if you don't already know your potential, then you already know your potential. It ain't 30+, I'll tell you that much.

How does one even learn potential CL? I’ve yet to have a manager share that with me. Yeah, I know I’m not hipo.

And to all you people in Spring trying to get an expat assignment, S&D are prioritizing demobilizing expats from Singapore to get those few new expat assignments.

S&D will move someone Singapore direct to a new expat assignment rather than move a Spring based employee to an expat assignment then move the Singapore person to Spring. One relocation instead of 2.

Moving someone from Spring to an expat assignment is now by exception.

OP is correct and it isn’t a party for anyone after 40. 50 and older is even worse

Ok for all the others that are not able to make it past cl 27 to 29 leave. If you are young you have a choice and can escape before you are stuck. Who the he-l is above cl 30? You guys are way above the normal employees ranking.

Nah, you first bruh.

I’m not going to be gaslit into walking away from an easy paycheck by some NRE ge---r who makes $300k/year to edit and email PDFs.

Merry Christmas BTW
