Anyone noticed that they seem to be handing out NSI/NI outcomes on the basis of some BS vague “behaviors”. Also it seems that supervisors are still hosting pre-assessment meetings and deciding who to drop before the official one with HR.

Pre assessments are critical. That is when the sponsors make phone calls to confirm their minions are near the top and HiPos are at the top.
I had a Project Exec place me at the top of a pre assessment list and she received a phone call to place me no higher than 7th on the list. I did not have a sponsor and was not a HiPo so placing me at the top of the project list was unacceptable. It was also unacceptable for the Project Exec to tell me about that.
@1vbr+1tnEq4lb initials ?
Don't think they're saying that's its good for anyone. They're simply explaining how to be successful in the system. If that's not OK with individuals there are decisions to be made. Why try to swim against the current for an entire career?
For every person that sees the flaws in the system there will always be someone like the ones in the bottom of the thread that are brainwashed to believe that the process is good for you.
Hoping for some justice in Annandale, there are some Department heads and group heads that deserve NSI here. What’s going on here is criminal.
@1duu+1tnEq4lb I think I know who your talking about his boss is a single overweight cat lady who everyone hates. Karma is a bi--h.
@1okm+1tnEq4lb I know a guy who still works for the company in GP I think. His wife left him and he takes out his anger on other staff in the workplace. Those are the kind of people who stuck with the company long term and that’s a fact.
Bro Jump ship from this dumpster fire of a company take a hard look at the people who are at the top a lot of them have marital problems/divorces, anger issues, egos, s-xual harassment charges because they live and breathe a toxic culture and kiss each others as--s to get to the top.
Find another job and shut this cancer out of your life for once and forever.
@1zzt+1tnEq4lb, and no one in HR is openly speaking about it. Spineless org.
Delta Dental (that most Dentist don't accept) offer shows how low this company has gotten.
@1ksv+1tnEq4lb, ditto. And for the naysayers, the shade of green outside XOM is definitely greener.
Dude what is it there to "notice" about this PDP process? It has been rigged and manipulated always to serve the agenda of managment and HR. There is nothing to notice about this process. The process has been fully exposed. The only thing one has under own control is a decision, whether to keep grinding, getting manipulated or get the he-l of Xomhell.
I left the company a while ago. The grass really is greener on the other side. Better pay, better benefits, great culture. Walking away is the best feeling. The company has went downhill and the leadership is absolute garbage. Young staff have been avoiding joining like the plague.
Yes, they'll get you on some trumped up charges, much like a parent can control a child to meet their preconceived outcomes. This is old news, you must be young. If they like you your reviews, raises and career will be comfortable and piece of cake. If you feel slighted, angry, mistreated, blah blah then simply take the hint. The Company has decided against you.
The performance assessment has nothing to do with your actual performance. They will brainwash you to think that process is real. It is riddled with bias, favoritism, discrimination and corruption. Supervisors will say “behaviors” because they have nothing else to point to and they have to justify the outcome somehow. This is just the way company works. That is why there are so many toxic leaders. HR has a high attrition rate because they know how corrupt the process has become.
I’ve heard a lot of similar stories on here. The performance assessment had become toxic. WEAM is just a facade created by senior management. There was another thread where someone from HR was PIP over the survey.
@1amh the problem with your logic is that although behaviors are defined someone still has to decide if that behavior was exhibited. That opens the door to bias. Not all managers will perceive behaviors the same way so it opens the door to using the system inappropriately when it’s not based on objective results.
Pre assessment and distribution is expected before you go into the final assessment session. It's part of the process. If your boss doesn't do that then they are not meeting the expectations of the assignment and they'll gain no credibility within the greater group of assessors.
Its part of the process. If you don't understand or refuse to align to the WEAM/ expectations of leaders behaviors you are missing most of the characteristics you're being assessed on. It's your own fault, don't fight the system. If you cant get with it I'm sure there is an employer that is a better fit for you.
The base issue is that more than 95% of the remaining employees are doing their base role above all expectations so, in light of this, "behaviors" become the difference between the categories. These behaviors are very well defined and are even shown to you when you input KO's for others. If you are not attempting to demonstrate some of these behaviors because you feel like they don't help you get your job done, you are 100% incorrect because the company has 1) communicated the importance of them and 2) defined them for you. Now, you say, "That's a bunch of BS! I do NOT need these behaviors to do my job!". BUT the part you are not understanding is that the company believes that you DO need these behaviors to do your job the way THEY want it done. Since they are LITERALLY the ones paying your salary, you should LISTEN to them. Otherwise, don't complain and move on to another company that just wants you to do your base job in any manner you determine. (Expecting lots of downvotes, but just stating facts. And no, I am not a HiPO nor an OwD person. I'm just someone that pays attention.)
Yes - they still do the pre-assessment thing. Nothing's changed in the annual Hunger Games, other than more overt discrimination taking place.
Yes, I received some vague feedback that my poor performance was due to behavior issue. Mainly my lack of communication during COVID. Of course there was as no mechanism to report my boss who was MIA during that time. Could not get a hold of him for weeks and weeks. Too important to mingle with us underlings. And definitely didn’t communicate any down the chain. We did the best we could. He was the only one who got the promotion. Not really sure what he did other than to brown-nose and claim our successes.
