Anyone noticed that they seem to be handing out NSI/NI outcomes on the basis of some BS vague “behaviors”. Also it seems that supervisors are still hosting pre-assessment meetings and deciding who to drop before the official one with HR.

VPs about to start whipping out coffee chats because those will solve all our problems! Bring your own beverage though we need to save our money for other corrupt stuff.
@6xlp. Promoting non-managers from 27 to 28 was Always for padding on the bottom 3rd. Since time immemorial
Always amusing to read HR data leaks on here they keep us entertained!
For any tributes that have fallen on this Friday we are praying for you!
Does anyone know a senior manager who kind of looks like a diglet from Pokémon and sounds like a weasel?
Someone find Ursula from a little mermaid and tell her to get the culture network mobilized.
Come on guys have some sympathy for management! They need more money to abuse staff. Harassment can be exhausting!
Rumor is If you recruit a BTC onto the team it will show that you align with the company strategy. Senior Management would be so proud!
If you received an unexpected promotion last year that puts you into the next up level of assessments, like going 27 to 28, then you might have been moved up just to provide padding at the bottom of that higher rank group to protect HiPos and sponsored people.
A hitman will probably be in the next United Way raffle! That way managers can collect tax breaks!
@5lka+1tnEq4lb You probably got NSI for doing your job really well. Management hates competent employees because it means you won’t align with BS.
Three strikes and you’re out! The PDS ball game begins.
55+ and no sponsor = documented counseling or pack your bags.
NSI is not based on performance, just politics.
If your Supervisor NSI’d you and your PIP is under same Supervisor, it may not be possible to pass.
company prides itself on safety and integrity yet the managers are criminals. They need to be put on trial.
@3qbw+1tnEq4lb I know the Covid story pretty well dude was practically unconscious after Covid hit his lungs he had an existing health condition so it messed him up pretty bad. Supervisor walks around with a smile but she’s sadistic. Regardless of differences no one deserves that. Hope he’s doing alright.
@5lka+1tnEq4lb Sorry to hear this when I had mine the supervisor could barely look me in the eye and read of what sounded like an HR script that is how I knew he was full of sh-t.
NSIed. I'm feeling like sh-t. I just don't know where this came from. No prior signals. Everything was perfect. Not being sponsored has its consequences.
Guys we have to be careful if we complain they will start shoving another culture wave down our throats so more managers can pad the PDS with BS sessions and act like they are making an impact.
A supervisor once told me some of them coordinate with HR to axe staff and balance the numbers. The PDS process is such a joke.
@5jnb For the most part that’s all EMHC engineers do too. Not sure what point you’re trying to make here.
EMHC doesn’t engineer anything. Neither does BTC. Get over yourself.
Some BTC engineers are so bad all they do is just pop up on the zoom screen and sit in silence. Might as well just not even have the role anymore someone tell management they might as well save another 30K.
I know a supervisor who spends more time on shoving WAEM culture down employee throats than doing her job. Some supervisors are so incompetent that they have to find something to pad the PDS so they can shove others down.
One of the many issues I’ve had with the assessment process is when I get glowing reviews in the pre-assessment and then get dinged months later in the final ranking concerning things never mentioned before. It just proves it is a performative process just to fulfill a requirement and has little to do with quality of work. I had a supervisor slip that he has a list of names higher ups think should be on the sh-t list because of age, pay, or some other non work related reason. It’s a joke and just erodes any collaboration or innovation.
PIPs are about to fly. If you get NSI, prepare to say goodbye!
They have started hiring some people just to use as NSI scapegoats. If you are new to the company be watchful of S&D’s corrupt agenda.
Some of these managers need mugshots. They sound like a prison gang.
@3bkc+1tnEq4lb As long as a BTC engineer is breathing they can avoid NSI. I met one who looked like he had never seen an excel spreadsheet in his life probably got outstanding with distinction.
@ 3qbw+1tnEq4lb This is an old story. He was also a new hire who was medically uninsured and they wanted to teach him a hard lesson about what happens when you don’t align with management. Sad thing is the guy used to say his team was like his family. Learned the hard way what kind of people are in Senior Management.
When I used to complain about the whole assessment process, that it starts in March and finishes in January of the following year with the pay rise…and that it’s full of bias… for a small % increment for most where hundreds of hrs are spend deciding what that % is… I used to get asked, how would you fix it… at the time I had no idea…
However, having left for a much better company and compensation, where they don’t do stacked ranking… moral is much better… everyone gets a raise based on the overall company performance and exceptional folks get a bonus…
Its not so hard!!!
In BTC you can be incompetent and produce terrible decisions and avoid NSI.
In Spring you can get NSI for publishing how many corrections you made to BTC deliverables.
@ 3qbw+1tnEq4lb I worked with that guy he was really smart and was nice to everyone. was to sad to see his supervisor abuse him like that they really did a number on him.
There was a someone I knew who got Covid and was experiencing symptoms of respiratory distress. He was forced to come in and I think got some kind of brain injury as a result. Senior Management is worst then the mafia.
I’ve heard this story too I think it was a female supervisor. Could be that there is more than one occurrence. The individual was supposedly threatened into silence. I heard it from a credible source in HR.
Imagine how sad your life must be to hospitalize a new hire over performance. I bet the a--hole probably enjoyed it. Can’t say I am surprised it seems that if you are not harassing staff you are not meeting the expectations of leaders here.
It's like old school organized crime. Once you are a "made man",:i.e. fully vetted and approved by the senior decision makers, you will do no wrong and be given wide latitude to make money for the Company. If you then lose trust or face at any turn you are cast out. Anyone not "made" is a dispensable foot soldier. The PADP process is a legal process to protect the Company, nothing really to do w you
They also have a targeted a lot of pregnant women in the past. Must be part of the new WEAM culture wave.
@1edv+1tnEq4lb I’m pretty sure that is a real story the bald headed POS Senior Manager is still there.
@1uwu
nepotism goes a long way in XOM.
I heard of an occurrence of a supervisor not sure of the name who put a new hire on a pip and bullied the poor kid so bad that the individual ended up in the hospital. Not to sway anyone’s decision but some supervisors are really messed up in the head just be careful with your choice it could cost you your life if the wrong person pips you.
