Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon's Prepaid Blunder

Yaknow I have to think that the dunderhead results for Verizon's multi-billion dollar purchase of Tracfone is actually due more to the Tracfone side rather than Verizon.
Verizon was led to believe that Tracfone was a competent organization that had its s-h-i-t together. Obviously Hans & team did not do their home work properly!!

We know that Tracfone's IT team led by Jay, Scott, Nihit, and Vani pulled the wool over Lee and Rolando's eyes making them think everything was great! Guess what, it wasn't! Errors galore, Vida Pay moving dealers to Verizon's competitors etc. etc. etc.

word is out that Simple Mobile will be gone soon? No one's saying officially that customers can sign up for T-Mobile as the carrier anymore. Too bad because T-Mo was way more efficient.
The end is near, I'm afraid. More layoffs to come

Can anything different be expected when thousands are laid off and vendors are allowed to "take care of your business" (can we say VidaPay??)

open Verizon Value positions?
Not likely, most are probably fake with intention of adding any new positions to offshore locations. With layoffs still happening, VZ corporate is using the old standby of "inflating the market with non-opportunities to show growth"

How much you want to bet that more shrinkage will happen in this group. Take a look at the Q3 results. No mention of "Verizon Value", only "Total Wireless"

Do you see all the open Verizon Value positions? Literally RUN don't walk to another carrier or segement of the business. Value has already gone through so many changes and nothing is creating a net positive. You have brand(s) that are giving service away to try to capture customers and those customers are leaving as fast as they come. Ever check out the FB reviews or comments on these products?

Just look at the numbers. Verizon buys Trac (a wildly successful MVNO) with 22 million customers for $7Billion dollars. Verizon then proceeds to let go of all the Trac talent that made that company what it was and brings in the Verizon "Top Talent" to instill the Verizon way. This strategy has resulted in a loss of 6 million customers as we now have 16M customers. Please tell me how this strategy makes sense. Verizon's leaders are clueless as to how prepaid operates. The company has no strategy and they let go of everyone that knew how Trac operates. Good luck recovering....

Verizon leadership with no clear strategy and stock in the trash for years. But they take over Trac and Visible, replaces all the old leadership with Verizon lifers, make all the decisions, but tracfone is the problem? Make it make sense!

Hey y'all looks like we are are looking at the end of the road.
Tracfone people are going away if they don't come off as V-teamers.

Why did Verizon spend so much money on buying something they really didn't want to support?

What happens to the master agents with all of these changes?

In all fairness, Tracfone's ineptness was due mostly to it's IT department. They outsourced almost everything

we don't have American leadership. we imported a foreigner as ceo to lead a company of mostly Indian staff.

Since when does Verizon EVER do due diligence? There are countless companies that litter Verizon's trash heap... Cybertrust, Terremark, Yahoo, AOL, Skyward, XO, and now Frontier. This is a company that doesn't care what the fundamentals are, just the appearance that it seems to have a plan. You need good visionary, experienced American leadership at Verizon to make a difference for the future and you just don't have it right now.

Prepaid ki-led our brand by diluting high-value post paid customers with the prepaid burner phone market. It was a bad deal from the beginning like Visible.
