Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

New Hire here, what did I get myself into?

Was just made aware of the huge layoff where multiple teams that my group supports have been affected. It's pretty surprising to me that Fiserv is going through with layoffs in this economic climate. Most places are hurting for employees. Was also told during interview process that we would have a hybrid schedule with a few days WFH and am now aware that being in office 5 days in mandatory. What?!

First Data is the king of annual layoffs.....they've done it for years. They can't grow their business, so they just shrink the staff to hit earnings to keep Wall Street happy.

Keep your options open for other company opportunities…this is no place for younger people to think they can start a promising career ….

Sorry to hear you started at this company. You are the fresh meat that they will abuse because they don't give a rip about you or your personal time. Find a new job quickly, the culture here stinks.

Look friends, If you want to work for a company that cares about its talent then you will need to leave Fiserv. Jeff may have not been the greatest but he was the lesser of the two evils. The truth is hard and it is ugly - Frank just doesnt give a cr-p. He will look at you and lie straight to your face. He did it to me and the other directors I worked with at First Data. Personally I think that guy sold his soul a long time ago. All you have to do it talk to others who worked for companies he has managed. He is a horrible CEO and a soulless person. No matter how much you love your job or your colleagues or even your clients, with this guy steering the ship you will hit an iceberg. And all his cronies will fill up the lifeboat while you are trying to tread water. Sorry folks but that's the truth. Anyone who posts differently, works for HR, is an executive, a brainwashed fool or just a liar. Once you realize this, you will be able to make better decisions regarding your career.

You got yourself into doing the work of three or four people while the company downsizes your department over and over until they finally decide to get rid of you.

Also, probably getting exposed to delta in the office.

I moved states twice this year for the company and they laid me off so that's what you have to look forward to.

We were promised remote would be the norm here in the UK but they suddenly changed their tune at the last minute and made 5 days in the office mandatory. I recommend you look for something else, this firm do layoff's a lot usually randomly. The problem is we're already operating on skeletal staffing as it is and barely meeting service level agreements.

Getting rid of remotes and will rebuild on location. No idea what the 5 day in office is all about.
