Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

The senior leaders are also struggling

The senior leaders are struggling just as much. The amount of movement and changes that are being done behind the scenes leaves everyone in fear that they are going to be eliminated. We have seen individuals with impeccable talents and performance be let go for what seems like useless reorganizational efforts. If the bank has been struggling this bad, then they should listen to their front line employees but no, send in a consulting firm to do your dirty work and blame it on them. USB has shifted their culture. Employees are no longer of value, even though “Putting People First” is one of their main Core Values.

The executive leadership is where the problem lies. They are not upfront with why things are done. The leaders they have brought in over the last 12 months seem to have zero knowledge or experience in the related fields they are leading.

It’s a travesty to see so many talented people discouraged by a company once so loved. The time to right the ship is now. But all we see are bandages over gaping holes.

This needed to be said. OP is @lfb+1sorMl5O.

Former UB employees surviving a merger just to get laid off later with a worse severance. They do have it pretty bad at any level.

As a former UB employee, many of us saw this coming. During the integration work we saw how badly UB employees were being treated , never given opportunities to interview for jobs. Offers given and then rescinded( multiple times) . We saw incompetence in the management and leadership. We just saw a rudderless organization. But we also saw layoffs coming , we read that USB still owed almost $4B to MUFG to do the deal. We heard about capital restraints, we heard about $300 Million dollars misses. So yeah we heard, we thought about it and now we see the results.

JW fumbled to answer simple questions from employees submitted at the beginning of the call. Showed a true lack of understanding to what has really happened a few levels below him. Leadership is so far removed from the front lines, they have ZERO clue as to what has happened and why.

In a fully scripted second quarter town hall, the company leaders stumbled as they tried to read the script from a teleprompter, which they either didn't believe what they were reading or they didn't actually write what they were reading, while in a short question and answer session, it became painfully obvious to all watching, that the company's leaders are not in charge of anything anymore.

As a former UB employee, I look forward to being layoff after 5/31 and move on with my life

Everyone else is struggling because the senior leaders do not join together and stand up to the mob on top.

What’s so special about May 31st?
Some Union employees have been laid off prior to this date already.

Union employees that were transitioned over were told they were “safe”. However, safe is for only 12 months. May 31st is the day “safe” ends.

With everything that’s happened in the past few weeks… Andy naming Gunjan the new president, Elavon drastically shifting leadership, and the mass exodus of 5,000+ employees, the bank is starting to show how truly lost it is.

The newest senior leaders they are putting in place are the WRONG people! Confusing and underwhelming leadership is what is being put into place.

If you thought it was bad now, just wait. The worst has yet to come.

Middle management is also a problem. Been useless and wrong about everything for years. They haven't had a good idea or added anything to any conversation in years.

Well said, now that UB conversion is complete, the opportunities that were promised were a lie. Putting people first is just words on paper.
