I keep getting messages on weekly basis from people I work with saying they have been let go, no matter the years of experience or performance, it sounds just random . How long is this going to take everyone is stressed and scared?!

@1wt I willing to volunteer to be laid off. Can't figure out why my number hasn't come up. Although Id request they not give me a lump sum pmt.
@1wa the single lump some stinks. Would be nice to have it spread out.
@1tm How many years of service did you have and what level?
FIS should open up a volunteer register - I would gladly apply on these 2 week / min 8 week terms - they'd get the headcount down to target pronto...
~HOPE FIS ARE READING THIS!!!~
@1va if you’re in the US the severance plan is available on FIS and Me and includes how to calculate. The severance plan was updated in February 2025 (unannounced, I might add)
For most, it’s 2 weeks per year of service with a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 52 weeks
The payment is now a single lump sum, RIFd employees still get the 401k match in February, and FIS pays for first 3 months of COBRA
“I was laid off recently and received 42 weeks of severance pay (the max payout was 52 weeks per HR). I had a senior level position.”
Please can people post both their years of service and weeks severance so we can see how many weeks are being paid per year. Just telling us you got 42 weeks pay is unhelpful
I got the minimum because I am an older female. Ageism at its finest. A-s$&@“/
@1r I was laid off recently and received 42 weeks of severance pay (the max payout was 52 weeks per HR). I had a senior level position.
@az up to how many weeks? I believe it 2wks per year to a max of 26 weeks based on your level. Management levels may get more.
@rn US
@rj what country you in?
@ge Correct. My papers read: "you are not entitled to vacation pay, sick pay, or pay for personal choice holidays upon termination of employment unless state law dictates otherwise."
I'm losing out on 5 vacation days, ugh.
I wouldn't recommend having any banked PTO. Use it before you lose it.
@ge I think it's time to self impose "Summer Fridays". Three day weekends until doomsday.
@fp unused leave is only paid out if required by local laws. In most of the US it is not legally required and FIS does not pay it out…..at least that’s my understanding based on voluntary employee exits.
@az that’s useful info.
Has anyone else got 2 weeks severance per year of service or something else?
And is this in addition to paid notice period and paid unused leave?
This will go on until the CEO is fired. There is no real strategy - aside from shoveling money into mgmt consultants that are now embedded everywhere, and cutting costs faster than revenue declines.
This company is overfunctionalized and too top heavy at the very top. How many new very senior roles (CEO - 2) have been created and announced this year?
Nobody’s going to be more productive in the face of seeing highly productive long-term coworkers pushed out - because if they’ll get rid of those highly productive workers why would you bother being more productive? The crush to morale is obscene.
@ah I recall a post previously where someone mentioned the layoff schedule, at least once August was mentioned. But September for sure was on there.
@OP two of my colleagues were let go this week , they have been with the company for more than 10 years.
@aj I got 2 weeks for every 1 year of tenure.
@OP It's intentional to keep employees off-balance and push more productivity (even if ultimately self-defeating). If you work longer, harder, and act more compliant, it's a win. If you leave, the reduced headcount is also a win.
Don't we have a severance "policy"? Is that actually followed, is it BS, or is it dependent on the "situation" whatever that means?
@ad Have seen references here to big cuts in September, but none in August? They've been happening every month for a while now.
Company pays the legal minimum in each territory for layoffs
Next batch will be in September.
@OP i am also worried about being laid off with no notice. Is the company at least paying out severence or are they cheating on that?
I’m already stressed and scared……..
