@3ch

But if he finds a cheaper growth center he’ll sacrifice Pune and Poland and Lake Mary for somewhere else. He truly believes that any trained monkey* can do any of our jobs.

*trained monkey being racist code for India worker, Polish worker or any other ethnic group that you despise.

And they can and do any of your jobs.

Time to start asking the moderators to delete the racist posts here. It’s so sad that these people work along side of us.

It’s not done by far. It will continue throughout September and again in December. If you were cut in this round check out the analysis document you received which details how many in your division are marked for termination in September. It doesn’t provide names but ages and title so you can do the math that they are not done yet. If you are lucky you will be fired by end of year because who knows what happens after that with the SUB plan. My advice is that if you are not eligible for a lot of SUB or are reliant on this job as a good portion of your household income, make a backup plan now so you are not blindsided like a lot of people who feel like they will never be terminated. Keep an eye on job postings for your area and if you see a lot suddenly get posted then you have reason for concern (I know from experience). I had been waiting for the call for at least a year so it was not a shock when it came but it still leaves you pretty disoriented.

RV only cares about analysts and interns. He marginally cares about growth centers, but if he finds a cheaper growth center he’ll sacrifice Pune and Poland and Lake Mary for somewhere else. He truly believes that any trained monkey can do any of our jobs.

The worst round of layoffs I experienced in just over 20 years. Myself included. I think that there might be some more that come back after vacations from what I heard.

@1pmm I’m not sure when you’re going to learn. People are not grossly exaggerating numbers. They can only speak to what they are witnessing at their location. And it seems BNY rotates the location hit the most in each round to keep themselves out of the news. It’s not Karma. You’re the only denier in here until this round. I guess either you or your location was finally hit!

@1wob+1udX8no6 - of course. Why would they get rid of india who cannot tie their shoes without numerous instructions. Were they all part of trade or another team?

First real layoff experience for many I see. Just cleaning out the remaining boomers.

There are no “Layoff deniers” on this board and there have never been Layoff deniers, at least for the last fifteen years… when there were far more layoffs.

There are only people who call out grossly exaggerated levels of layoffs.

Kind of think that this week was a bit of karma for those who constantly warned of utterly nonexistent layoffs. Yeah, karma really is a b1tch isn’t it?

1cqv Stands to reason. Just look at the mess Senthil left in his wake a Citi. He’s literally doing the exact same thing at BNY. Offshore everything to his homeland, cripple Risk and compliance operations and move on. In a few years, the bank will pay hundreds of millions in fines and he’ll be on to the next, just like Citi. For now, hundreds of jobs are taken from Americans and given to his people, the bottom line looks good, and he rakes in millions in bonuses. Let’s hear it for the bank of India Mellon!

@1bsd+1udX8no6 - no it was not. They took out an entire compliance team and those people were primarily younger not “boomer” as ur d-mb comment suggests. Stop speculating . This will continue to happen because they want india doing everything and have zero regard for the US employees or the fact India cant do sh-t

I agree… this layoff was squarely targeted at older boomers, mostly in technology. Expect that GenX, GenY, millennials and GenZ are about to retaliate with a mass exodus.

This will not end well. You break it you bought it.

Time to learn how to manage Robin.

I am devastated to learn about colleagues I have had for almost 20 years - always staying late when needed, always helping, training etc. to hear they are being let go is just terrible. Good workers, not slackers, not lazy, just employed by the bank too long and too expensive?

we all thought it would be tech only, nope, business too. lots of SVPs this time. Robin got some data showing too much growth in those grade levels and not enough analysts.
