One manager fired a few engineers today. Reason unknown. It’s quite a surprise.

Was it the team that replied "all" to the happy birthday Holly email?
was it the team that manages email distribution lists?
That's how it used to be, not anymore. I've been a mgr for quite a while and in the old days it was definitely a challenge. Unless your employee ki-led someone, HR always wanted to slap them on the wrist. Not anymore though, I've noticed a major change of direction with employee relations, and now 1st incident terms are pretty common/accepted. Obviously depends on the infraction, but they aren't sweeping big stuff under the rug anymore.
It’s easier to get fired than you think and not for on the job issues either. I can’t give details because of pending legal action against Wells Fargo. Just that I know they are actively looking peoples’ finances and firing them to avoid severance and reduce headcount.
Better not make a financial mistake or you risk getting on the chopping block.
I call BS. It is next to impossible to fire someone at this company.
Firing a person at WF by the “normal” means is an insane and grueling process…it took me over 6 months to clear one deadbeat from my team.
However , don’t underestimate WF’s shady corporate methods… its mid-year review time… so don’t be “surprised” when your manager literally makes up any BS excuse to fire you for “performance”… your word against theirs…and WF gets rid of you without paying severance and possibly unemployment. This is straight from the corporate playbook.
1jcr+1sYMn37i Took a long time to fire Carrie……tho didn’t she “resign” withe a platinum separation package??
I thought it was virtually impossible. Maybe it's been in the works for a couple years.
Fake news. Even the incompetents get to stick around for years at this company.
@1wqt+1sYMn37i, remember, many employees were fired in Carrie T's organization, including Carrie herself.
Man, that's incredible. You know how hard it is to get fired from wf.
Wow
If they were fired for cause, it doesn't really matter
@1cvr pretty much everyone.
What LOB/division?
During employee appreciation week? Who'd have thunk it?!?!?!??
