It depends on the section. My supervisors have consistently gotten better over time, but I don’t know if that’s the case for all disciplines. I know in one case, a former supervisor ran the section into the ground, and it hasn’t fully recovered, and may not ever.

Attrition and morale are definitely a problem. We are hearing lots of words but not a lot of action. All the dead weight has been cut over the past two years. Also, I have a feeling we aren’t being well represented in the rankings when we get feathered in with the other non-engineering disciplines.

Sounds almost as bad as BR. Few changes in supervision are helping but it’s tough to fix what the previous toxic managers have done to decimate our sections. Lost a great group lead and tons of good engineers because of the toxic managers and it will set us back for years. The present GLs are nothing more than Emre lap dogs that don’t care about anything except making themselves look good. Getting involved in projects just enough to take credit for the work. Hoodwinking management acting like they are doing work while in reality they have everyone from maintenance and subordinates doing their job. Pretty pathetic.

@Everybody

Thanks for the input. Based on what I’ve read on here I think I’ll pass on EM. The PIP thing seems messed-up. I don’t want to work for people who do stuff like that.

Really bad i think. I saw couple of folks resigning for the past few weeks. Heard from some people that Baytown Engineer ing cannot do project since they do not have enough resources.

I hear poor leadership, but not as bad as Beaumont Engineering apparently. Regional Director is responsible and has hand selected his favorites.

I like a couple of the upper management folks, but some are entirely worthless. Supervisors are a very mixed bag because these days they can’t seem to keep them for more than a few months before they resign or are moved.

@1xuo+1haQJwwL Backstabbing, brown nosing, etc. No one knows what’s going on. If you’re looking to get a job, I’d steer clear of XOM.

Incompetence all the way around. From supervisors to upper management.
