Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Layoff rumors?

With our past experience of our upper management seemingly being obsessed with having layoffs every few years we have to think they are cooking something up. They have no regard for the average employee, so even though they have already put us through a terribly disruptive ROM in 2020 they probably will do it again. Has anyone heard anything about any new cleverly named initiative that could be a layoff?

@1yjr, no, incorrect. "quiet-quitting" is widely known as the term that the slackers use to justify slacking, not putting in a true 40, and goofing-off most of the time, and letting their co-workers pick up the slack. They try to justify it as something that they and only they "deserve" for being mistreated/underpaid by management. But you keep thinking that it means otherwise if it makes you feel better, cupcake. Your co-workers know who you are and what you're doing, I can assure you.

@1chb, speak for yourself I'm able to get all of my work done and have plenty of time left to take care of my lovely wife and family. If you can't cut it maybe you need to try a different career?

2020 “transformation” was a joke and Al and Chris Powers got promoted because of it but in reality, it did nothing. They’ve had 3 other “reorgs” since then so what was the point of all that time and energy?

Quiet Quitting is called doing your job but not giving the company more than they deserve. If they want more they can pay more basically. That's how capitalism works. You pay for a service, not work for free. You pay 40 hours you get 40 hours but not more. If you don't like how it works then git out!

Oh man its the re d neck axeman guy who loves working 100 hour weeks guzzlin' some natural ice at home and never spending time with family. Our lives are meant to serve the company. A company that doesn't care a bit about us.

I think that it's past time for some chopping to be performed by the very talented Axeman. Employees have gotten complacent, quiet-quitting bs , complaining about wanting to WFH and all the other whining millennial-style self-entitlements and freedoms that they seem to all think they deserve for just being born. You're being paid to do a job. Do it or quit. No one's holding a g-n to your head. Do you want the job or not? If not, find another one. Someone else does want your cushy CVX position, I can assure you.
The Axeman commeth.................

Remember when SJV went through “SJVBU Transformation” with big Al telling everyone they’re staffing for 2025. That whole project team got a repetitive stress injury patting themselves and each other on the back. People were promoted away. Remind me… is this the second or third layoff since the first Transformation?

EM will be dispersed to BUs. The rest will be contracted out. Without need for SR offices the cost cutting just sort of snowballed. Sorry.

It is my understanding that CEMREC is re-organizing / disbanding again. Does anybody have any further details?

It's not layoffs anymore. It's "Talent Sharing".
