It’s been almost 2 years since I accepted a role in Wells Fargo CIB as a fail safe option. Although my team is great and enjoy the work/life balance, I see no growth here whatsoever. CIB as a business lacks the basics such as faster technology, new innovate ways of trading and it is basically a non performer when it comes to traditional investment banking.
I left a top 5 bank in CIB because i got caught up in bad office politics and had no option but to leave.
Now I feel stuck here with no long term growth and my resume will show that I am move roles too quickly.
With that said, is it a good idea to leave (with the possibility of burning bridges with my manager) Or should I take the work/life balance benefit and try to rebrand myself with new skill sets and then go back to the market ?
Any tips would be appreciated.
