You can still be laid off without any severance allowance. The only group that is protected by the PIP process and the US country study is the near retirement-eligible group (e.g. age 52-54). You must have at least 12 years of service by Jan 31, 2021, to be in this group.

60, with 13 years. Will I get to ride to the end? I have planned to put XOM in my rearview mirror at 15 years and 1 day. I'd be quite pleased with a lump sum based on 13 years and guaranteed health insurance tomorrow.
So what if you are of an age to be retirement-eligible (62), but only have 11.5 years of service, just half a year away from NRE? Would a target be on your back?

The faq says that if RE opt not to take voluntary, they are not eligible for involuntary, and they will continue employment.

@1zbm - You are 100% wrong. Please stop spreading false information and giving people a false sense of security. Retirement eligible employees are not in the scope of the involuntary plan (or benefits). They can, however, be laid off with no severance package.
False information. Retirement eligible (55 or more) as well as NRE (52-54) are not in the scope of the involuntary plan, meaning they can’t be laid off, not just can’t receive the benefits of the involuntary plan. This is confirmed. If it would be formulated as a question, it would be perfectly understandable, but when you don’t know something and make a whole thread out of it, that’s disinformation.
@ @OP+17HEkjRP This is incorrect. It is age and service. Not 12 years of service. They are not going to mess with people 52-and up. Those 59+ they need to go
