Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hub non-hub

I'm in state x but my LOB is in state y. I'm being told I'm customer facing so remote is fine, when I asked a few months ago. I'm not sure I'm fine though really. My broader division has an office in a hub market 40 to 50 miles from me where I don't know anyone. My LOB is also a hub but states away. They could just replace me with someone in my LOB state. They're acting like things are fine but I feel like a target for some reason.
Is there a chance I'm on a list with a date or something or being paranoid?

as long as there is business for you to do there, they will keep you regardless of location.

Business strategies change all the time though, so in your type of position i'd be wondering about the health of the business in your geography.

@1zrb+1t8BMhp9 Oh they can and will. You must understand that there is no rhyme or reason to any of this other than “non-hub location = bad”.

Now that doesn’t apply to sales roles based out of a branch, etc… and there may be some regional corporate sales roles that are allowed to work out of various locations by LOB and role… but certainly not the case across the enterprise.

OP again- What if you are in a sales role that requires traveling and meeting with prospective clients in your market? You have to be remote for that position. They can't let these people go?

I agree with @qmv.
If you are not in a hub location, you are going to be laid off. If you are in a specialty location, it is a matter of time, but you have more time than someone not in a hub. Remote people are on the chopping block. The only thing that's a little fuzzier are people who are remote due to medical accommodations, but most likely, it is just a matter of time for them.

If you are a living and breathing human being in the USA you are not safe.

Your post lacks clarity. I can only assume you are trying to say you are NOT customer facing so your LOB says that you CAN be remote.

You must have been living under a rock. If you are Remote you are already on a list and will be let go. That is the one Wells Fargo guarantee we have.
