Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Molina Claims is now FirstSource

Oh man, when it rains, it pours. FirstSource is taking over ALL of Molina Claims. You have to "apply" for your new position AND if you do not accept an offer from First Source, you do not get a severance package from Molina. More to come. Wave 1 starts 4/22/24.

Let’s get back to work. Less chatter and more work. We can all pull together and get this done. Time to pitch in and do a little extra, stay later, work some weekends and donate excess PTO. That’s what a good teammate and team does. Let’s all do better.

Yes, Molina has tons of visa employees whose Green card was sponsored by Molina -

1-They joined on H1B visa
2-After few years of employment, they cry about getting green card - thousands of $$$ in fees
3-Continue to cost Molina $$ for DOL processing delays until GC is finally granted years later.

Fragomen is the vendor who is paid $$$ in fees/annual contracts/special emergency processing fees etc.

I have 10+ emps - overall Molina, total count with these needs is upwards of 1500+ emps in US. There are emps who are being brought onshore from India on L1/2 visa (with their dependent families) which is additional $$$ cost to Molina.

Total drain annually on taxpayer/client budgets. This MUST stop!!
Hire local Americans with no visa needs.

The medical claims teams need to go in a few states too. The managers can not manage and they can’t do the work with their incompetent RNs.

I am glad my position was eliminated back at the beginning of December. I moved on. Back to a stable job. Got severance and pto cashout.

Am I the only one that listened during their Q&A?

PTO payout is taxed like normal income and Firstsource is increasing our pay to cover increased insurance cost. Also we get the same amount of PTO it’s just Vacation, Personal, and Sick now.

It’s BS that they did this with so little notice but don’t invent problems to add to it.

Not sure about Provider Services just yet. Maybe we can all ask Joe about his $18 million salary.

Update on change of insurance between Molina & First Source....you WILL be paying more for insurance coverage as an employee of F.S.

PTO is a joke too...a little over 20 days for the most tenure individual at FS....your Molina PTO does get cashed out and you get taxed like a criminal.

Better apply for Molina VTO while you can, every little bit helps.

I work as a Provider Service Rep that handles Providers disputes. Are we directly impacted?

Another Update...supposedly other departments haven't even been told of this change! How is it that almost every department, in some shape or form, is there to help claims but doesn't know that this happened? I get that they announced this just last Friday to those in Claims, but for a top fortune 500 company of this size, and with everyone being remote, you would think a change of this size would be AT LEAST emailed through out the company. Once again, epic fail on Molina's part. Or, perhaps, smart business to just brush over it in hopes no one notices. Google this exact situation and you won't find anything online.

Update from original post....heard it first hand from people in claims. Waves of 3 will happen. First wave is basically leadership of claims, after that, I presume 2 waves for everyone else.

I’m apart of the first phase and I’m utterly disgusted on how they’re handling this. The PTO for First Source is significantly lower and our PTO won’t transfer over. We do get to keep our tenure. We’ve been treated like a number and I realize that most of us should’ve left when the Molina brothers did.
