Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is full of mediocrity as the best have left

Pat talks a big game but does not have the team he thought he had.

Face it.

Intel is full of mediocrity as the best have left.
There’s no way mediocre engineers are beating the superstars at other places.

Bumping it up from @lbh+1tiBDIg2.

@2bvs, what is funny is that JK wanted to have the latest processors built at a competing foundry business and the "leaders" at that time said no way. Now Intel doesn't have JK and the latest products come out of TSMC factories. A lose-lose for Intel but they should be used that by now.

Because Pat didn’t change a thing internally other than separating IFS. Same people, same process, same culture.

Another hopeful ignorant.

Not knocking your positivity. It's great.

It's the lack of groundedness that's really cringe.

In an ideal world, sure. We're in reality though.

And reality is there is a lot of slackers, mediocrity, and apparently, way too many middle-managers.

I have no doubt there are many rock stars at other places, some of them may have even left Intel in the past due to multiple reasons, but I just wanted to remind you that change is constant, and that those "mediocre" engineers Intel supposedly has will eventually learn, grow and develop skills to place them at the top.
There's so many internal issues but there's also opportunities, and I hope those of us who would like to live another day in this company get the change to see how the future unfolds.
Cheers!

They managed to drive Jim Keller, the rockstar of architects away.

The people at Folsom are probably the worst out of all the sites...just a lot of mediocrity and just plain incompetence... lots of boomer lifers waiting for retirement, giving all the young people the work and they take the credit..absolutely pathetic

OP..💯% agree 👍

Extremely obvious to anyone who has been at Intel for over 15 years. The company has hollowed out its best employees.
