good advice @2bww - smart
Skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been. HW (everything except mainframe), legacy SW (IBM’s old multiple cloud iterations), and services (labor intensive with very thin margins) is where the puck has been. Redhat (openshift), Ai, and hybrid cloud is where the puck is going to be. Management has made it quite clear as to where they wish to take the company (exploit IBM’s monopoly), and if you do not embrace that, you will be left behind
I would quit IBM. Corporate America is thievery at its worst. I would feel better doing service work that actually benefits people and not the greedy sick executives at the top.
go work as a trader they earn heaps
Advice is wasted on the youth
