Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Would you cross over to the competition?

I have noticed Nike in the eyes of other people is a renowned brand and many think it is a privilege to work for this company. After years of working here, after seeing and hearing all sorts of things, I would love to go to a competing company. Is there anyone else who has moved or would like to move and work for the competition?

You’ll be fine elsewhere. Nike will be fine without you. Think of yourself, the times wherein Nike considers energy return with its employees is in the past.
This is outside and deformed from the company Uncle Phil started... there are triumphs but major defeats to go with the the evolution of Nike. I wish the employee was at the center of its priorities.

Why would adidas take you? I know many people there and they are every bit as talented as swoosh. Also they run a much tighter and smaller organization. So jobs don’t come around as often.

And stating that you would take your directors with you. I don’t think adidas would share your fever dream and unconscious Nike bias. They do things differently over there. You can’t just cut and paste garden variety swoosh people and not expect a steep one year learning curve.

If you are at Nike you should feel very fortunate. And if you go to adidas house you would also be very fortunate.

Nike leads the industry. Yes, things are kinda weird now, but going somewhere else will not get you what you felt you should've gotten at Nike. Those days are long gone across the entire industry. It's not like after COVID everyone is going to realize Adidas was the savior.

Yes, why not? Nike gets talent from the competetion, so why can't Nike's talent cross that divide as well? Personally, I prefer Adidas to Nike in every way and I want to go work for Adidas. I hate Nike with every fiber of my my being. This is coming from a Sr. Director at Nike. I would take my directors with me too.
