"The fact that the data packet moving problem hasn't been completely solved after nearly 40 years of trying says it may be time to try something new."
Pushing packets is now a commodity. Cisco simply hasn't had the second generation leadership to successfully create anything remotely as innovative as pushing packets for the Internet.
Cisco's leadership has been entertaining over the last two decades as they've thrown so much up against the wall in hopes something would actually stick. It's too bad they never spent any time actually listening to their customers describe their business challenges.
That's much more important than moving data packets.

Hey Fran - You need to look into the Engineering organization. Your virtue signaling over inclusivity clearly hasn't made a difference there - both in terms of population and performance.
And everyone knows it.
The main innovation Cisco has is that it is inclusive. That's much more important than moving data packets.
The dude who made that video is absolutely bang on. Chuck completely out of his depth speaking to this technical audience. Whoever wrote this garbage script for him should be fired. There is nothing to inspire about this keynote whatsoever. Shameful and embarrassing.
You can tell Chuck very defensive, no confidence. Gone are the days of Lloyd, Volpi, Kennedy.. when they speak, they inspire.
The main thing he gets wrong is JC was the same.
What a refreshing take. This guy is spot on.
