Dude, Tesla isn't good for anybody. And their leader is a wolf in sheep's clothing who knows nothing about software or manufacturing - he had to poach most of his mdg team from the existing OEMs.

And worst of all, he relies entirely on government subsidies for people to buy his shoddy vehicles.

He needs the left because they support green initiatives - but they hate him now. And the right loves him now - but they will never buy his vehicles. What's he going to do when the subsidies (aka handouts) dry up??

Why leave one dying company, for another dying company?

Tesla is good for people focused on career and advancing professionally. Usually this means young people (lots of energy, few responsibilities and a whole world to discover). I did similar in my youth, spending a lot of extra hours mastering the skills.

After having a family, kids take a lot of time, and I don't care about my career as much as before (besides being around 10 years away from retirement). That's why I chose Ford years ago, looking for the work-life balance, and Ford delivered, even with its ups and downs. Yes, things are going wack now at Ford, more like "guac"amole with all these jobs going to Mexico. We'll see what happens later this year.

Tesla is no longer for me, but it is still a good opportunity for young engineers.

Absolutely the right choice to turn them down. No way I would work that much for any employer unless I was running the business...makes no sense. Ford does provide some balance for sure. The trade off you make is that you don't exactly know if whomever is driving the company knows what they are doing. Tesla is quite different in that respect. You pretty much have a guarantee there. Only problem is he expects you to sleep under your desk like he does...quite the trade off.

If cuts are on their way at Ford, let them come. Yeah it will su-k having to find new work...but I'm looking anyway. Am I concerned about competition? If the majority of people looking are similar to those at Ford - then no....quite frankly I'm not. Although it's always better to leave on your own terms and it's always easier when you have a job...."blah, blah, ect.."...still not that worried.

Tesla offered me two positions but I turned them both down. It was a joke. They wanted at least 12 to 16 hours each day. No thanks. And not for that lib leader and his pandering to dems to buy his cars. Nope.

I make good money here at Ford and have work-life balance.
