Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I am tired of all of the cover ups.

I have witnessed several cover ups of the HIPOs. These persons have committed safety, product data and behavior violations at exxon. The supervisor s always cover up the violations and protect the hipos and themselves. The saftey violations could have ki-led someone. It is crazy at several sites. I am waiting for someone to die. Saftey and HR are all in on it as well. Even if you report them they sweep it under the rug.

I talked to all of the higher ups about the dysfunction. I have spoken to HR about the favoritism and unfair ranking. All of this was listened to and nothing done. They like the dysfunction and fear. No one wants it to change. Management is physcotic and evil. They do not want us to be happy they want us at each other's throats ki-ling each other. Everyone is listening and watching each other. I hear things I have said behind closed doors recited to me by the supervisor. Trust no one and isolate yourself. There is no co-operation or teamwork. Weam is bull s hit and it is everyone for them selves. I am in a silo solitary confinement for a few years until I can escape. Now I know why some retire at 55.

There are different standards for different employees. That is why exxon is f uped and a sh---y place to work. No fairness or justice just inconsistency and disfunction. The management does not want change just work. The place is ruled by fear and intimidation. I have given up and will mail in my last 3 years. They pi---d me off and will get the least out of me. I always wondered why the older employees had such a laz attitude towards work. Now I know and you will too. When everything you do is wrong you learn to do nothing. I will sit back and watch the explosions or f uc ups. I cannot say the truth so I will say nothing. I was told to promote the company processes as good and functional. I cannot lie so I will not say anything at all. I am in my final position and will retire here in he-l. There is relief and an exit for me. I feel bad for all of the younger ones who have 20 or mote years left.

The hotline only works if you are reporting an action by a non HiPo or who does not have a sponsor.

I reported a serious policy violation and one person that already had a target on his back was instructed to retire immediately. I was then instructed to put in writing that I was retracting my statement so the issue would not be investigated further. Seems they did not want the Executive involved to get any blame.

I’ve seen hipos have their ranking raised after the assessment meeting by their powerful sponsors. Ranking was intentionally reduced by assessment team due to toxic behavior that needed to change but sponsor said no way. This person has appeared on investor and earnings call promotional materials as a poster child.

In product solutions they fire the contractors instead of reporting it as an impact. So no investigation. The supervisors are all out to get each other. I have seen some major f ups and cover ups in downstream. One contractor was not trained correctly and had an incident. The supervisor fired the person that day. Nothing was said and dome about this.

These stories must all be Upstream, there are never incidents in Product Solutions…. they never hide incidents

Hotlines my a-s. There was once an electrician who was purposely ordering parts and supplies from certain people at vendors. The electrician would bring the sales reps to meet everyone and ask us to buy only from them. The sales reps all were very well endowed women and very pretty. The electrician was rumored to be having relations with several of the sales ladies. The electrician was also getting free tools and kick backs. Once wee accompanied this person to lunch with a sales rep and they told us we needed to get a certain amount of free lunches or stuff in order to buy from the reps. Many people complained about this but nothing was done. Some even went to HR but the managers and supervisors protected this sl--eball.

Example. A person disabled the safety alarms once. They did not alert or inform the others in the lab. No control of defeat was filled out. when it was discovered the investigation was minimized. This stelar employee was awarded safety person of the year. No joke it happened. I had several good safety submission's and improvement that year and nothing was done for myself.
Another superstar was tasked with removing and replacing pressure relief valves on several units. This genius suffered from ADHD and just did not give a damm. The person installed several backwards and this resulted in some blown up plastic and glass vessels. The person who delegated the work to the superstar employee was reprimanded because they should have checked the id--ts work. The protected ADHD worker was not even reprimanded. The supervisor would sit on the ADHDs desk and talk to them forever. It was love at first sight.

In contrast….If you are not a HiPo or an experienced hire, toxic co-worker and supervisors will be quick to point out minor mistakes like mispellings or improper formats on Powepoint slides. Anything to beat you down in the ranking and to demonstrate you don’t belong. Be prepare for others to take credit for your work when it is good and the scapegoat if something goes wrong.

To be fair hotlines work in our case, we fired a few employees who got kickbacks from contractors before. And it all started from a call from another coworker of those fired. We also kicked contractors out. So hotlines can work ins OEM scenarios. Investigation can take months however depending on how severe or bad the situations.

It’s not just hipo. Managers cover each other. We have an SLS that’s been to HR and caught in lies on multiple occasions. She is still here even though it’s a posted offense.

The hotline is worthless. I’ve reported misconduct before and they did nothing. Financial kickbacks from contractors type of major issues with witnesses and nothing was done.

Do not blame the Supervisor for the cover up actions.
The Supervisor is just following verbal orders from a VP or a P, nothing ever in writing.

That Supervisor also forbidden the mention HiPo caused disasters in ranking session.

I know a Supervisor that stuck to his ethics and told the truth in a ranking discussion. That Supervisor was dropped in ranking the next day for telling the truth.
