Monitoring Network Activity

I heard some rumblings that they are monitoring network activity now for RTO. So if you come in they will monitor your network usage and perhaps raise an alarm if there’s no activity.

So badge swipes won’t just be the sole determinant. Anyone hear anything to this effect?

We now have toxic employees. Robin really has his work cut out for him.

@2nma

We tried to actually evaluate employees based on what they ACTUALLY do through the entire 2 years of the pandemic and we learned that most employees slacked and screwed off. Effectively we collectively taught management not to trust us.

No, not all of us slacked off. But so many did that Senior management do not trust us. You remember the folks bragging about watching Netflix all day, working second full time jobs to get over, etc.

The more likely people are to complain about working from work as a commuter, the more likely that they were slacking and effectively stealing from the Bank.

@1dxs

What happened to actually evaluating employees based on what they ACTUALLY do?

Well we did that throughout the COVID era and when productivity cratered…. Well that’s how we learned what slackers we employ.

Now we’re weeding them out.

Ahh… the nontechnical iPhone addict millennial who said “BO-M” returns with even worse tech advice.

Millennials are addicted to their toys with no understanding whatsoever in regard to this discussion.

@scv, HR can't even arrange for fired employees to get their personal belongings out of their office.

I’m kind of annoyed that my performance is being reduced to badge swipes and zombie time on the computer. What happened to actually evaluating employees based on what they ACTUALLY do. This sh-t is ridiculous and morale ki-ling.

HR has a number of ways to see if you’re actually working. Monitoring network usage is too cumbersome. If they have reason, HR can simply mirror your screen and watch you in real time.

Welcome to 1984 the Orwellian version. Be careful what you think as the Brian Police are liable to come for you. We’re going to check everything you do with AI including what movies and TV shows you watch, what you say and who you say it to. Be careful. Where is Neo when you need him??

I’ve also heard Alejandro say he wants people working from bar height tables or on couches, etc. in office redesigns. Who can work on a computer like that? This type of computer or keystroke monitoring wouldn’t work for many roles, I don’t think. I hope they don’t consider our jobs data entry clerks.

My job requires me to be in meetings and not even at my desk or on a computer for a good part of the day. This would be silly for all roles. Maybe an ops role … maybe. And if we are being forced back in the office isn’t it to encourage us to get away from our computers and interact with people?!?
