What's the future for Global Projects with recent reorg?

Based on public domain recruiting sites and LinkedIn postings, it appears that our ExxonMobil headcount is increasing to approximately 2000 technologists and engineers at our Global Technology Center in Bengaluru, India. The Technology Center is only 5 years old, but headcount appears to be at least 1000+ staff members at the end of 2021.

Many other titles and open positions are also being posted on public domain recruiting sites for Global Projects, EMRE, EMIT, F&L, and EMCC at the Bengaluru Technology Center. Perhaps Houston should ask for a physical expat assignment in India for 2-3 years to facilitate and accelerate the technology and engineering knowledge transfer.

Projects needs to execute on 8 more FPSO in Guyana, new trains in PNG, new trains in MOZ (eventually), a couple FPSO in Brazil, Any Chem/DS project plus all new Energy Transition projects. With over 150 G in CAPEX over next 6 years, plenty of big projects to keep Projects busy.

I can see any regional project organisations going back to the business and being absorbed in to the sites.

Global Projects will be reduced to a few managers with the actual workers being contractors in KL and BTC. QA for the projects will be the plants that are lucky enough to get any projects. The majority of people in GP will be gone by August. This move accomplishes headcount reduction and cost savings without any loss in quality. The use of contractors will allow ExxonMobil to scale the organization to be aligned with Capital needs instead of finding projects to keep people employed.

Cut off from all of the business lines, relegated to the likes of HR and EMIT (and look how those groups have been treated!). I think it's pretty clear that the future is grim.
