Wow, you should never have been displaced. In a bank where people can’t even appreciate free RSUs you stand out as financially astute, organized and really knowledgeable. You should be here running Private Wealth.

@3azp, I'm still unemployed living off the millions I've generated over my 30 year career. I've been taking advantage of my lower tax rate to move some of my 401(k) to the roth 401(k) and once I've done enough where my projected RMDs aren't an issue, I'll be liquidating a couple investment properties.

All layoffs are performance based and managers force rank us all.

Tell us the issues in your performance reviews and we can likely help you if you’re interested in working again.

Are you really still unemployed? If you can post your resumé perhaps we can help. What was conveyed to you during your review from your last manager? How did you get your first position here and what was YOUR manager (not Todd’s) specific feedback and reason. Todd doesn’t know you from Adam but your manager had to give you feedback and a review. Were there improvement steps and action items? Did you follow the plan?

All of this is important as Todd was the anti-Scharf & not here for layoffs. Nobody can advise or help you with your issues without information. You’re hiding the reasons.

In the first place, H-1B and offshore workers are every bit equally employees as you are. Check your racism at the door. We have employees in every region of the world because we need staff to work in every region, time zone, and country and we need to support to our clients in ALL REGIONS in THEIR CULTURE and LANGUAGE.

In the second place, Todd agonized over all displacements, and let me be blunt… if you were displaced by Todd in his two year COVID era then you really are unlikely to ever find and keep a decent job. It really took one heck of a total lack of work ethic to get laid off under Todd.

I’m so sick of your ugly American prejudices.

There were layoffs and offshoring under Todd. Not all were performance related. No matter how many times you say otherwise, you are wrong.

Todd did nothing of the sort. If you were displaced under Todd then you had to be slacking pretty darn hard as all displacements in his era were non performers. Todd was gracious enough to give you the package rather than displace without one. That says a lot about you and a lot about him.

Yes. Todd Gibbons came into the bank as an newly minted MBA from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University in 1986 and worked his way all of the way up the chain to become C.E.O. of BNYMellon in 2020. He was a rare talent, a caring leader and a friend to all through two very trying years.

Does anyone know the highest ranking officer that started off as a VP or lower? I can't think of anyone.

You won’t be able to hear the new Chief Commercial Officer screaming from across the floor. Other Sr. Leaders will finally be able to focus in meetings.
