Each and every one of you should guide your children or grandchildren into the construction trades or general labor jobs.
Our country needs more of these workers. Not everyone should go to a university. Those children should be proud to provide such services to our country.
The hammer swinger working as a construction framer is no way dependent on you. More likely you are depending on him to build that new house you bought or to do the major updates in the older house you bought or do the remodeling job in your house now. Good construction framers probably have 6-8 months backlog work which is growing.
There will always be some uneducated person to swing a hammer. That's why we pay them so low. So they are always dependent on us for those exact jobs.
What happens when nobody is willing to swing a hammer because they think like you do with their questionable college degree, it's beneath them. Without the hammer swinger or coal miner in the mix you and others are unlikely to get paid.

They don't make much money and they break their bodies for 20 to 30 years and end up so worn down that they aren't able to make it to retirement age.
The smart bet is to go to a major university and let someone else swing a hammer.
