Permian Premium Shenanigans

Notice how now that they brought back the Permian Premium at 50% of what it used to be they have coded it different on your paystub than they did before? End result being when you contribute to your 401k it isn’t considered as part of your salary. So your contribution and match (when it returns) will be less than they were in 2020. Means we aren’t at 50% of what we were before but even less.

@4wcr+1dehirUD Wrong. You obviously don’t work in Permian. Prior to COVID it was considered salary and even the 401k match was based off of salary plus premium. I have the paystubs to prove it. What do you have?

Premiums are never considered base pay as they are location or schedule based bonuses. The approach is consistent for expats, rotators etc.

Funny how management didn’t point this out. They would crucify me if I left out a detail like this in a work product I was providing to them. Convenient no?

Nope. It is definitely not tax assisted either.

Correct
2020 Supplemental Allowance with 401K match
2021 Location Premium no 401K match
Probably done by the the same people that had the convoluted table for the number of weeks of severance/year of service. Somebody put that on their PDS I’m sure.
Gives me the same feeling that I got screwed buying a used car from a dealer.

Maybe it is no longer "income"

Would be nice if you do not have to pay tax on it.
