Nothing has changed regarding what a VSP is really about and who is targeted (highest paid, best workers, highly knowledgeable/skilled etc.). Paid off my mortgage and moved on to a great job.

The deadline to accept is July 19th. Strategically there is no advantage to pressing the button early, so shouldn't management expect most responses to come in right at the end?

Undoubtedly there are a number of people who will want the benefit of their mid-year to help see where they might stand if it comes to RIFs.

For some, taking that lump sum in tax year 2024 results in a significant extra tax hit. For example, I'd loose an extra 7-10% to taxes. An amount that I'd get keep for myself if those monies were lumped summed in 2025 or spread out over the 60 weeks. One of the factors you need to consider before pushing that button.

Lump sum gives you opportunity to pay off mortgage or bills, biweekly have to save while they accrue interest. Pay tax, save interest is my choice.

They didn't make the offer sweet enough given the market.

And would've been more attractive had they chosen to pay out X weeks of comp biweekly across same amount of time instead of lump sum with major tax hit

Destroying Verizon by getting rid of good and knowledgeable workers because of the failures of senior executives. FIRE EVERYONE FROM VP and UP

it is FAKE, Verizon want to reduce headcount, does not matter if make good salary or not.
Leadership has Q+A session immediately after the VSP is announced,
after that, they did not talk about VSP, and leave individual to make personal decision, t

VZ leadership are encouraging as many to take VSP as possible. Want upwards of 10k. If not, RIF’s coming.

They keep espousing it as a personal decision while simultaneously stating it could not have come at a better time aka "We are returning to office, either get with us, or you are against us" -- this is not a decision you try to spin positively to employees unless you're actively weeding them out.

Leadership has so far been totally “it is a personal decision for you and your family”.

I am high salaried and heard nothing about this. In fact quite the opposite from my leadership. Nothing but a personal decision.
