Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The culture is depressive and suppressive

So many things are wrong but if you try to speak up about it you become a problem and a target for the next round of cuts. Whether it's a process that needs to be streamlined, an abusive manager, or a desperate need to backfill some positions, speaking up will only result in you having a target put on your back. How are we supposed to work in these conditions?

Someone who was cut years ago asked me "how did you survive all the cuts?" I do not know.

@2sbe+1gZ32Icl. For some people, change is hard. Besides, getting a better paid job in Michigan could be hard depending on the skills.

Personally, I no longer live in Michigan. There are plenty of jobs around here, but they don't pay as much as FMC. Besides, since working from home was implemented, I don't have to deal face to face with the people that irk me. That is not only a bonus, but makes the job easier to hold.

I am not saying it is the best choice, but I'll keep waiting for my layoff. After all, every day that I keep my salary, is an extra cash for my retirement.

If higher paying better jobs are out there for you, why wait for severance? Why hold out for a few months pay in a toxic environment? So many posters claim to be ex Ford employees who make way more money now and are so much happier...

I love this! People wanting to be let go because they get severance and they know they can find another job almost immediately because of the job market. Ford management is clueless. They think they can lose mass amounts of employees and just go replace them. Our LL3, who is a genius (sarcasm), has admitted publicly that they need to hire new talent, while cutting the existing talent, and that the new talent will cost more. ROFL You cannot make this comedy show up.

The joke is on Ford. Pay people to go away, then hire new people that cost them more. Cost savings? ROFL More productivity? ROFL EVEN HARDER.

Ford is screwed.

Why won't they let people sign up to leave?

I want to be paid to leave too. I wish we could volunteer to leave with severance!

I have been speaking up because I want Ford to pay me to leave.
