Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

OK for Now

I'm fully remote, but there's no HUBs in my state and the nearest US Bank office is well over 50 miles from my home.

Per my boss, no changes for me, at least none in the near future. Probably the long term outlook isn't the best, but I thing I'll just ride things out for now and not bother looking for anything else yet.

Anyone else in the same situation?

Exact same. Best of luck to us and others in the same boat. I do think they want to get rid of all remote workers, even those nowhere near a hub.

We have plenty to do in my department, and I am nowhere near a hub or office. I was full remote before 2019. I do however wonder if they will make my position to require being in an office. I feel lucky in the short term and worried in the next 3-6 months.

My emphaties for anyone immediately impacted. My motivation is down in the dumps because of the lies and us being treated like children, I can only imagine how others feel.

@2syz+1rmMW3TE "Beginning on April, those in your situation will be offered separation options."

Are you making things up because this sounds likely to you? Or were you granted some sort of insider info on the subject? Playing with other people's misfortune is at a time like this is pathetic but if you know something then tell us how you know, fellow "co-worker."

I was also hired as remote iat the end of 2022. If I knew this was 3 days in office, I would have asked for at least $6k a month before I accepted offer since cost of commuting is going to cost that much. Not to mention 2 hours wasted per day traveling

My offer letter from 2023 specifically stated I was being hired as remote/home based (I was previously with Union Bank). I was remote with UB also for almost 10 years. But I'm in a HUB market so I have not been formally advised on my future but it sounds like USB thinks they will be compelling me to spend 3 hours a day commuting to sit in a cubicle to work on my laptop and do Teams meetings with people who are all in different time zones. Exactly zero of the people I work with are located in my HUB city. Parking alone will be over $200/mo out of my pocket if this happens. F--k that.

I'm 29 miles from the corporate office location in my "hub" so am probably sc--wed despite the fact I've been remote since 2017.
