You are all busting your butts and ruining your health to get the ceo and his tribe of clowns wealthy . It’s not about you or your talents. It’s about how much thru can cut to hire new grunts to keep doing his bidding. All that money goes to the top and not a raise in site for any of you. You want a raise ? Start your own biz. Work at it as hard as you do Macy’s. And when it gets big and you drive by your old haunt as it says “ going out of biz sale “ you made the right move.

Improper discounting is theft and stealing depending on who you are and if you are well liked. Everybody has a brain, ears and eyes in their heads. Saw and heard a lot. Also understood the game.
Remember one thing. Nobody is your “ friend “ at Macy’s. You may like people and they “ like” you. But end of the day they will throw you under a bus if they can get ahead
I remember when the Michael Kors line stopped using Macy's coupons. The female customers acted like addicts going cold turkey. One long-time employee continued to give the discounts to her regular customers, and after awhile, LP shipped her out in handcuffs. I never figured out why she did that, since she was in an hourly, not commission position. (Not that being in a commission position is an excuse.)
To the poster from Paramus, NJ, they pretended they liked you. Karma is also an equal opportunity employer. Their time will come
Seems the pendemic has left some loop holes regarding employment laws. I was always under the impresssion a company could not rehire or fill a position unless they offered to an employee who was laid off.
@2upo Improper "discounting" is theft and stealing.
Time to consider joining a union?
Well if you’re “discounting” for your coworkers and family, it’s much easier to get rid of colleagues.
They just let go a associate who worked 30 years at one store for “ discounting “ meanwhile Macy’s had all these coupons codes online. , mailed to you ,etc. yet no benefit of the doubt just lp pulled her and printed out registers tape and she was let go. Or was she let go for making too much a hour ? I’m going with the 2nd one.
Just noticed Macy’s I WORKED in for 22 years, notice I said past tense WORKED. Is now hiring the position I was let go for c-appy $11 an hour. Oh yeah my boss who I thought was one of my closest friends was supposed to call me back oh yeah I didn’t hold my breath. They all lie, N J Paramus park you will soon be the swamp you were built on. There I had to vent. Karma is a total b–ch!
To the poster who keeps stating that the use of the word "grunt" is an insult- you do know that the term originated in the military referring to those "on the front lines," right? I have no idea why this term would in any way be insulting to anyone.
I've realized that you just gotta do what you can nothing more and nothing less this company will drain your soul if you let them op is right we're all just a number in their system doesn't matter how long you've been with the company how many hours you've put in how often you extend how many clients you have or if you get 20 credits a day
"Rambo, what mean "expendable"?"
"It's like when you're scheduled for a shift and you don't show up and nobody cares after they term you"
@usa I hope you are being sarcastic.
I’m not better I’m a grunt. Expendable grunt
OP, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Calling people "Grunts" is an insult. What makes you so much better.
