Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

The fact is that ALL companies massively outsource and ALL companies massively lay people off. It's not just T-Mobile

Yeah, T-Mobile is savage the way they do it by slashing all the tenured people, but every company outsources to low wage indians/Philipinos. T-Mobile just does it in a no F's given way.

Always remember, no company has any respect for you and they will get rid of you in a second if it means saving money.

To all the simpletons, yes politicians can influence private industry as to their hiring practices. Eliminate h1b, hire more citizens, invest in STEM..etc. I'd wager 95 percent of the h1b all have fake degrees and their work output shows....

India and China equally share one destinct advantage over ALOT of other countries and its served them extremely well in there growth. If you think either country whos eceonomy's are both growing leaps and bounds gives ONE IOTA about dumping plant waste into there eco systems your sadly mistaken..LMAO... They dont even remotely play by the same set of rules as most countrys..LOL.. India calls the Gange River "mother" ..and I personally know of one section of the river where 12 tannerys dump its entire waste load directly into her..and these tannerys ALL are within a 17 mile radius of each other...its absolutely criminal..sad.. and if it wasnt so pathetic it would be funny... Everytime both countrys go on about how proud they are of there growth I just want to break out in an absolute CACKLE... You stay beholden to a system with no direct set of rules nor remotely consider the impact you place on the area around you and companys will come in DROVES if the government allows it..and in these places thats exactly what is taking place... So before people begin the soap box declarations of just how much harder they work.. or how much smarter they are...you might want to stop and get a better understanding of the complete picture... and of course decide for yourself wether you think this is a true accomplishment... America has done MORE in the past 20 years as far as working with regulations than ANY other country..,. and we have suffered as massive price for it.. but when you consider us and those cheating this system... its like dealing with a bunch of children who think sh-----g in the pool while you swim is perfectly normal and acceptable... Sorry for the curse words... but true... Fine... your getting the plants to move there... just dont kid yourself in believing its because of ANY other reason that the ones I just described... you would be fooling yourselves...

@2uwh+1iztVLVe It's easy to say outsourcing needs to stop, but, don't forget, investors need want a maximum return at a minimum cost. They'll always look to cut labor costs.

Also, customer's don't hate it. They're fine with paying $100 for sneakers made in Pakistan or a $1,000 Iphone made in China that would be double the cost if made here.

Even those companies are moving into lower-cost countries. For us, if we can get a better deal putting call centers in Nigeria/Kenya (two English speaking countries) than the Philippines, we'd shut down the Filipino call centers tomorrow.

The bottom line is outsourcing needs to stop. Customers hate it. We need to give people living wages and keep jobs in the US.

BTW - You are silly and need an education.

Yes the Government both State and Federal can and will dictate to businesses.

Example in WA State:

In November 2021, we adopted the zero emission vehicle standards that require a percentage of the vehicles sold in Washington to be zero emission, starting with the 2025 model year. Consumers will have more choices of zero emission vehicle models, from light-duty cars and trucks to medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

BTW don’t ever think that any President or politician can dictate how should private companies run their business? It is all about the bottom line and cutting costs. I never believed any bs about taking care of our employees or the unanonymous surveys they sent. I always answer the middle answer as I don’t care because these surveys are never anonymous.
Advice: for anyone who joins another company don’t be a fool and overwork yourself or believe their lies about taking care of you.

Cantwell and Murray only show up in WA when it's election time. They're a pair of d'bags.

The part that angers so many is that T-Mobile has promoted itself as a people first company. One that cares about its customers and employees. For many years it seemed like that was true. This blindsided so many of us who bought into the cr-p T-Mobile was selling. It'd be hard for anyone not to have been sucked into it - aside from the world's biggest pessimist. T-Mobile's approach to this latest round was incredibly cruel and callus. Now we all know better. I still work there but since this latest downturn, I'm looking for another job. T-Mobile is on helluva pig.

Please remember tenured politicians do not care and never did care. I must say I understand and pain frustration you and others are experiencing.

In all probability many of those that received pink slips will need to relocate out of state. The job opportunities in this area are limited since many of the large companies follow the same practices.

The Boeing Company has move and is still moving lots of engineering and IT out of state and offshore.

Locally Meta, Microsoft and Google are not going to hire 40 and 50 year former T-Mobile employees.
