Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

IGS Layoffs This Week

IGS (and possibly SPS) is experiencing a wave of layoffs today. Some are being escorted out today and some are being allowed to leave at the end of the week. At least two from my department are being affected. One senior EE and a level 1 EE.

That is good advice. If you are rif'd don't sign the documents straight off. Tell them that you want a family lawyer to review them. Honeywell rep may say that you will get nothing then. Tell Honeywell that you will get what they have done for others. If needed, go see a lawyer. Lawyers love to go after companies the size of Honeywell.

@2kou+1nznigGg Dude....all that is left is deadweight so shed it and there will be no NJ64 left anyhow. I love coming here for entertainment.

I've been hearing this about NJ64 for well over a year now. There is no risk of closing down the facility. Just some shedding some deadweight

Intelligrated's unethical quoting process is finally catching up with them, as both Amazon and Target have caught on to Intelligrated's low-ball initial bids - whereby - as the projects move forward - and for some "strange" reason - all of these project require millions of dollars in more-profitable "change orders". Some Amazon projects have over 150 of these change orders, ranging from a few thousand dollars to millions. Yet Honeywell claims to be transparent and focused on the customer. More like focused on misleading the customer.

Though not surprised to see it, I truly empathize with those caught up in the latest round of devastations. Some food for thought, take your time in reviewing and accepting your severance package - they will give you a deadline and try to rush to get it signed; but, if you can, try to hold out and maybe even try to bargain for whatever you feel would be more fair. Only saying this because personally I just followed the ‘process’ and went along with what I was given, no questions asked; but, had I known that those who had only been with the company for months were receiving the same amount as those of us who had been there for years (longer tenure than most in that part of HW), I may have been more hesitant (my understanding this is due to the severance minimum threshold). Of course they take advantage that most people are going thru a sort of state of shock and panicking about losing their regular income, so in the immediate short term, it’s like sign anything to make sure you still have money coming. Since then, I have heard they may negotiate to make sure they have something signed, to avoid possible litigation against them. I can’t believe no state/govt body has caught on to the manipulating way they do these rifs, to avoid the warn notices - there has to be a significant increase in their unemployment claims over the past year or so (but who am I kidding, they’ve probably paid off whoever they need to to fly under the radar LOL)

@2jsq+1nznigGg Interesting isn't it. Across SPS there has been a heavy scale down on product development, now almost a token effort. It is a strategy that only makes sense if they are preparing to sell a business.

@2jsq+1nznigGg I'm curious. What was IGS doing to cheat its customers? It wouldn't surprise me if that's the case.

If Honeywell is getting rid of engineers from the Product side of things, then they are not planning on bringing out new products and are thus slowly ki-ling Intelligrated. Another typical Honeywell display of incompetence
and corruption. Honeywell got caught cheating its largest Intelligrated customer and then others started to notice and found similar cheating. Us employees have been getting cheated by Honeywell for years now. I'm just hanging around to see how the story ends.

@1cxb+1nznigGg Says the guy who in the other thread said 'SPS is fine, your job is safe' and in less than week there are near 50 layoffs. Muppet. There are going to be many regular batch (below warn) layoffs for the rest of the year, it's just getting going.

HONEYWELL SPEAKS OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF THEIR MOUTH.

"Honeywell now expects 2023 adjusted earnings per share between $9.00 and $9.25, up from its prior outlook of $8.80 to $9.20. It also increased its full-year sales outlook to between $36.5 billion and $37.3 billion from its earlier forecast of $36 billion to $37 billion.Apr 27, 2023". Reuters, April 27, 2013

If you search "Honeywell Financial Outlook 2023", you find similar reports and articles.

@axg+1nznigGg, they pulled down the link and the parent link. Ace HON IT security. Obviously they monitor the site like a hawk. I've never had HON IT address anything in 24hrs.

My condolences to everyone affected!
So where are people being RIF'ed? Product, project teams, all over?

2 were RIF'd yesterday from my IGS group, including me! I am fine and relieved it is over. Mexico can't handle the work as they are very limited in scope and in my opinion only capable of "plug a goes into hole b". It isn't because they are incapable, rather it has never been a requirement and we were expected to fill the gap.

Again in my opinion, Intelligrated is finished because the issues that chased the customers away not only have persisted but grown exponentially. I have been told from several customers that they only buy what they can't get anywhere else.

@tgf+1nznigGg Yes, you should be. NJ64 is on the hit list. Small cost heavy US site with a ton of senior employees and the building is leased. You do the math! We are doomed here in NJ.

Their plan all along has been to move all of it MX, and much of this has been happening for quite a while, although they believe we are stupid and didn't know it.

IGS experienced ~40 layoffs today. It seems to be across much of product engineering. Closing West Chester, consolidation of USS and Frederick doesn't seem to be enough. The only real revenue nowadays appears to be from our LSS team. Brownfield sites seem to be bringing in more business than new greenfield sites.

It's happening in both Mason and Charlotte and based on all of the recent management conversations about how we're not meeting our goals, this isn't unexpected. Of course, laying off middle & upper management would provide more bang for the buck, but that's not the way it ever is - it's mostly us peons who actually do the work.

If you are in SPS you are in danger. You should always have your resume ready. It doesn't matter where you are located. Nor how low your compensation is.

SPS also lost Target earlier this year. $128 million was stated in the earlier Townhall this week. Things not looking good for IGS. Let's see if this gets removed? Should be removing John Boy instead.

Suspect this my have to be the result of the Amazon working finishing up and not enough orders to back fill. The difference of a $3B and $1.7B Company. Along with all the other train wreck activities. Oops.
