Those whiney, hourly paid techs are making some pretty decent wages and their head count isn't as impacted as the bean counter, widget users, such as yourself. EVERY time there has been a reorg, restructuring, realignment etc, the whiney, hourly paid techs are the least impacted. Who is more important? Now that is the million dollar question...

@4qem+1v47GRJ4 EVERY single one of us is expendable. It’s hilarious that the Tower people can’t seem to grasp that. Even nepotism and luck eventually come crashing down.

The way upper management is acting I suspect something big is coming. Lots fighting for whatever work scraps of work they can claim and throwing whoever they can under the bus to make themselves and team look the best.

Again people, Towers personnel are just property managers masquerading as network/telecom specialists. Thats what happens when participation trophies are handed out and mom says, you’re special.

There will be a giant reorg combining network and towers and a purge of so many people.

Legacy Tower employees have road on easy street for many years . They have very little technical skills and very limited wireless knowledge. People who have been here for 20 years could be replaced easily with knowledgeable new hires. I have asked tower managers to explain how equipment functions on a tower and they could not provide the most basic explanation…very sad, this was a very tenured employee he had no clue as to how typical equipment functions for one of our biggest customers.

Why would a real estate company need technical skills? The tower side in all contracts and leasing??

I heard the same. They only want to glorious lightower rejects and the fibernet kickback mafia. The assets aren't a concern, just want the rockstar personnel.

feeling a bit of resentment in the forum. tower folks were exposed as being glorified superintendents with no real technical skills. creating ghost "widgets" didn't save your jobs.

Yes, get rid of the good ‘ole boy network team of Fiber and Small Cell staff (construction level all the way up through district managers). It’s all about who you know and not what you know. They walk around with their big heads thinking they are exempt from layoffs especially once the new buyer takes over. Just wait, it’s coming!

Crown stock would go back to $200 immediately if they sold 90% of my network coworkers all the way up the chain

I heard AMT is interested since they already acquired most all towers recently in the market, they plan to run the Network more efficiently than we did. American Tower here we come!
