With the week filled with layoffs behind us, I'm wondering (and hoping) if all the affected employees have already been notify? It's really hard to find any kind of an official number on all of this, so I guess it's on us to put the pieces together and figure it out.
Plus, I really don't want to spend the entire weekend worrying if I really don't have to.
no cuts this week yet its coming this week or next. Since they dont have a real plan they need to cut more fat and the lefover fat can handpick the highest performer workers for their teams. Nothing changes 100% bias behavior and no plan how to get the job done
Nike is a company that makes overpriced shoes and apparel that force young, dumb kids to pay disproportionate share of their income for it. Now JD is trying to make the company into widget maker like Mr. Perez did previously and failed.

We will continue to protest daily until our demands are met, on a broad level this includes defunding the police and abolishing capitalism. Nike can help the Black community by supporting us on those fronts but more importantly Nike must get its own house in order as John Donohoe said. There is very little diversity amd rampant racism at Nike towards Blacks, it is paramount that during these tough times our Black brothers and sisters are not laid off. Nike must hire POC especially in leadership roles and provide opportunities for them to rise into upper management positions.
NIKE isn't notifying each employee about to be laid off. No one gets any warning. NIKE had to provide notification to the state that the company plans to lay off AT LEAST 500 more employees, including about 160 Nike Childcare employees whose jobs will be eliminated at the end of Sept.
If y’all are Nike employees, this chain shows some serious awareness and homework that needs to happen. AT LEAST 500. And no, for the most part, it’s been VPs this far. Lots more ahead over the next couple of months. And @juo... I don’t know where you were in 2017, but that WAS a mass lay-off - to the tune of 4% of the workforce.

Back in 2017 a Nike employee was laid off via video call on the way to a parent's funeral.
The person doing the laying off is/was a reptile. The company did and does favor reptiles.
Another employee who was recently deployed to Taiwan was laid off remotely....HR also indicated that they would not be paying for this employee's relocation back to Portland....that was resolved shortly but still left the multi decade, dedicated, employee feeling gut punched.

In 2017, a bunch of my coworkers were laid off when Nike stock slumped a few points. It wasn't a mass layoff but I know at least one had gotten the call while he was flying out of the country for a foreign Nike retail location. I believe they paid for this flight back, since he had to immediately return to WHQ to pick up his things and leave. It's brutal. I'm nervous that all the physical retail designers and directors are going to be a risk of being kicked..

I hear only 499 people have been notified. The last person is out on sabbatical which is why this is taking so long. Everything should be wrapped up in 5 weeks unless that last person gets in cell phone range for the zoom meeting.

What part of "AT LEAST 500" don't you people get? This means the total number of affected employees will be much higher: 1500-2000.
