Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

CENSOR-Y overload from T Rowe

Wow. The censoring from the company is quite poor form. I have learnt a lot about this company from many of the posts here. One day posts are visible and then the next they’re taken down. I think they do it on other platforms like Glassdoor too. Way to bury complaints and curate a deceitful picture of the company.

@OP do y’all think they censor news on layoffs here as well? Like it seems there hasn’t been much news on which functions and team have experienced layoffs besides broad comments like a few in GCAS or GSM or some tech folk.

I have noticed that a review I wrote on Glassdoor isn’t showing. I also notice generic HR responses to some reviews. Some of which say ‘sorry you feel that way, we have policies in place’ to a person who felt discriminated against. What an utterly terrible company.

@3dd it can have a feel of the Truman Show a lot of the time. Fake, glossed up image of success for the firm. Under the surface it’s incompetent leadership and managers, failing funds, laughably stupid business plans and a whole lot of bullying.

Censoring is just the tip of the iceberg. T Rowe Price has morphed into an unrecognisable fat hydra with multiple grotesque heads.

@1j3 I vaguely remember a post on that sub as well about a manager really liking to hire divorced single mothers as well. He like had a thing for it or something. Something about control maybe.

@en yeah I remember that post - T Rowe Price discriminates against men - censored

@138 cursed? Surely not? Haha, yeah probably true. Next Halloween we’ll be seeing kids dressed as Trusty.

Graveyard of dreams with filthy cockroach managers who won’t die and ghastly ghoul leaders that will su-k the life out of the workers.

What a despicable firm!

@n7 Intimidate is an understatement. Try bullied and harassed. I’ve seen managers act without impunity fulfilling their evil selfish whims. I think HR and “leadership” lack accountability and cover up for their reports. This company is probably cursed.

@s1 I can probably count the number of forums that discuss T Rowe Price on one hand. So yes I think management are engaged here to at least some extent. Also it’s obvious management knows of and views this site.

I doubt the site’s getting any kind of push from management - not with so many different forums all running their own way.
But deletions do happen. From what I’ve seen, mods are pulling posts that share personal info about non-public people, even if it’s just initials, and the same goes for insults or racial/ethnic slurs.
There are site rules linked in the footer, and it looks like they apply site-wide. I’m not sure if it’s the same mods doing the cleanup everywhere, but the standards seem pretty consistent, at least from what I’ve seen tracking another forum here. Mods almost never let that stuff slide.

@OP from my experiences, management will intimidate people that speak out. HR protect management as well. One of the HR ladies that use to work at the company used to have regular coffee catch ups with one of the managers. Someone made a complaint against the manager and surprise surprise she told him exactly who complained and what they said. It was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Can’t say this was a one off as well.

@eg recent sub here and for anyone that wanted to read it but now can’t, from memory:

  • male said recruiter advertised his same role with a significant bump in salary
  • the company only wanted a female
  • a female got the role and she had no/little experience for the role
  • poster complained to HR and his manager and it didn’t end well

@c1 yes indeed, they nuked the whole sub. I can just see those sneaky lairs also trying to destroy evidence of their wrongdoing. Deleting emails and records. Changing internal notes.

@cf holy sh-t woke indexes? That’s why you’re being downvoted

@c1 I posted something about the woke indexes they strive to receive specifically the ones based on ratios of various demographic groups they hire. That got removed. Nothing in there was untrue. They spend too much time obsessing over demographic. Sickening feeling.

@bx yes the interface isn’t the best on here but there was one whole sub removed on a man who felt discriminated against because they hired for his exact same role but with higher pay and only wanted women. I also noticed other posts which allude to certain people getting removed.

I can’t say for sure that nothing is being removed, but I noticed users commenting things have disappeared when I can still see them. There are two sorting options on the main page for TRP: “new” and “active”. “New” sorts all topics, even without replies, by date created. “Active” sorts all topics by date of last reply (if there is no reply then you don’t see the topic). There are multiple pages of topics for TRP so you have to click “Older topics” to see more. Likewise some topics have multiple pages of replies so you have to click “Older replies” to see more. Both of these hyperlinks are easy to miss. There are also ads wedged between the replies which can make it look like you reached the end of the replies when you haven’t.

I think I'm mostly curious about who is being paid to watch the sub and has admin rights/ability to delete. That's someone who should be laid off
