Working two full-time jobs during WFH

I need people to be honest with me, please. Did you manage to balance two jobs while working from home? Several people have called me crazy for not taking the opportunity while we were on full WFH to do another full-time job and I think they're full of it. I never had more than maybe half an hour during the workday when I could concentrate fully on something else. How in the world could somebody actually do two jobs at that same time? Even if you don't have much to do, you must have something! I don't understand this.

I don't see how you can do this with the schedule at the bank. Not during the same working hours anyway. But yes, I've read about people doing this during covid and making tons of money fast. Maybe part of the big push for RTO.

@3fqt+1iDTqx5I - fair enough, but (and I'd need to go back and look), but I think the Code of Ethics we are required to sign each year as prerequisite of employment at BofA -- while not necessarily "prohibiting" it -- does state that you'd need to at a minimum make your manager aware.

If it were for a competitor (which given the breadth of this company is a lot of categories), I'd have to think that is against some regulation or law.

I haven’t heard of anyone within the bank doing this and because my group is so busy I wouldn’t be able to have done it.

With that being said, there is absolutely, I repeat, absolutely nothing fraudulent, immoral or unethical about working two jobs. Those on here saying otherwise must have little knowledge or absolutely despise acting toward their own self interest.

In this capitalist system, the goal is to acquire capital at any cost. You are exchanging your services for money, and if the services rendered aren’t up to snuff you can get laid off. Likewise, if you are able to perform two jobs well, then awesome. If you’re able to perform 100 jobs well, even better.

Capitalism works just fine for corporations when they refuse to adjust for cost of living, or when they close entire offices and ship the jobs out to third world countries where they’ll pay 1/2 of what they pay here. It works just fine when they get government bailouts, and charge obscene amounts for prescriptions and healthcare. Works splendidly when they take all sorts of tax breaks and government handouts.

I guess it’s only for us poor folk that capitalism doesn’t work for. And I guess that’s to be expected, what’s not to be expected is fellow poor people saying it’s “fraudulent” or “immoral” to work two jobs while at this terrible company.

We’re living in bizarre times where people think corporations are humans, and billionaires are angels. Wake up peeps.

Btw this is irrespective of political alignment, Dems and Pubs are both in the “employ” of corporate interests and neither party has any vested interest in helping the working poor. They love to have us all fighting and distracted while they’re robbing the bank.

I don't blame you people that work two or three side jobs with this shlitty azz salary BOA gives us. Fcuk having integrity or feeling guilty. This mutherfking CEO doesn't give a rat azz about us . We have to start doing our own shlit .

There is no such thing. Even the not most impactful roles at the bank leave little to no room to do anything else.
I have about 10hr work days and that's at home. If and when they require full RTo...I will hand in my resignation and look for something else. After rolls, gas and commuting expenses...my salary hasn't caught up with the 1% raise since 2019 that the bank gave me.

@1jfb+1iDTqx5I - Code of ethics, eh? Kind of funny to hear anyone talk about the bank in these terms. The bank couldn't care less about ethics. It's all double-speak. Do you really think this corporation cares about ethics? The only thing they care about is their stock options and bonuses. They want nothing more than your total 100% commitment to making sure the stock price goes up. That's the only reason why they have this policy. They are fanatical about employee control. I guarantee you that the big wigs have many outside business interests and income streams besides just working at the bank.

Are anyone else spidey senses going off? I would think someone doing this would be commuting…I don’t know…fraud? I seem to recall having an employment, code of ethics, employee handbook commitment. Call me a boy/girl scout

There are three at the bank doing this currently that I know of and they are working for competitors. The only mitigation is full RTO.

No, I do not. (We were all too busy!!)

Do freelance and maybe you could pull it off.

Don't risk it with any real full-time employer though. That stink will follow you forever.

I actually know someone who did this. Not at BAC. They had two full time contractor positions for two different companies at the same time. They made a lot of money.
