Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Giving way more of our money

I see we just "invested" $3,000,000 in Optus Bank as part of the treasury financial agent Mentor-Protégé Program. This is after giving away $20,000,000 for the educational and workforce development programming in underserved populations of New York City and Pittsburgh.
It's kind of a slap in the face with my SUB payments end next month. Too cheap to pay me to save them money but they have no problem giving away tens of millions of dollars to be woke.

@3fut is absolutely correct, except using Todd's middle name.
People spend WAY too much time worrying about what others are making. In fact, if you stole ALL the money from every billionaire in the world and divided it up evenly among every person, each person wouldn't even have enough to buy 1 share of amazon stock. And that's from taking everything the billionaires have accumulated over DECADES.

@1xyu, that's the view of people who are bad at math.
Paul Gibbons made $6,000,000 last year. He could give up 100% of it and each employee would get and extra 6¢ per hour.

Remember that CEO who took a pay cut so he could pay all his employees a minimum wage of $70,000? Here’s what happened next:

“Six years later after the decision that others said would destroy his business, Dan reports that revenue has tripled, the customer base has doubled, 70% of his employees have paid down debt, many bought homes for the first time, 401(k) contributions grew by 155% and turnover dropped in half. His business is now a Harvard Business School case study.”

In his own words:

“6 years ago today I raised my company's min wage to $70k. Fox News called me a socialist whose employees would be on bread lines.

Since then our revenue tripled, we're a Harvard Business School case study & our employees had a 10x bo-m in homes bought.

Always invest in people.”
