Do you think for a minute the company has thought about this and how it might handle business? Travel is still allowed everywhere but mainland China. I guess you can’t expect Chevron to be forward thinking... we have such a diverse work force it must seem insane to them that some traveler might become ill.

If 5% of the people who contract the virus die that is pretty bad and certainly a sad event for those effected and their families. But even if 5% of the entire earth's population were to die, life will go on for the 95% who remain. Life contains risk and its all one big c-ap shoot. Perspective people. Carry on.
@3idf, God save the company if they believe most people will do real work from home. Get ready for our stock to plummet to $50.
I heard about a section of this site where they discuss layoffs, also for Chevron. With a forum and threads about layoffs. Do you guys know a link for that? Thanks.
it was mentioned at the IT Town Hall Thursday that they're beefing up the VPN systems so more people would be able to work from home
In 1400 smith Pinakin Mistry pnxr was asked to go on quarantine as he just came back from northern Italy
It’s a matter of time now people
So, legitimate Chevron people in fear of layoffs or others who don't have a life or the ability or presence of mind to find any of the other thousands of legitimate websites & forums which discuss similar topics yet you have to log in and not be an anonymous coward. Fair enough.
FYI this is the only site one can speak candidly/anonymously about all things Chevron. I you may not be aware, some are retired, some work shifts, no one dares use a work device to express themselves here. Have a nice day, by the way, which of the above are you?
Coronavurus? Where do you get these employees from? Constantly on thelayoff.com. apparently.
Self-quarantine himself as opposed to what - self-quarantine someone else. Where do you get these people?
coronavirus Has come and is getting lots of media attention, but it will eventually pass. Just like the avian bird flu, SARS and the H1N1 swine flu, West Nile virus. It is basically just a bad flu. It will hit the US, just like the others
Who says Chevron isn’t taking precautions? I think they are probably one of the more proactive companies out there.
There was an employee in my unit who visited some family in China. When he came home CVX medical asked him to self quarantine himself for two weeks and work from home. I’ll admit, I thought it was a little overkill, but he did it and ended up being fine, but I thought CVX was being very proactive.
I guess some people always need to complain about something.
