Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

When will some of you realize there is no more being safe here?

There's no relaxing. There's no end to worrying. There's no end to stressing. Layoffs are the new normal. Layoffs will be happening indefinitely. It's as simple as that. I've said this before and I'll keep saying it. You're not safe. Don't act like you are. Work on finding a new job because you'll need it, sooner or later.

@3pmb, it used to be like that, when Richard Davis ran the company. Worst crisis in the banking industry in our lifetime and hardly anyone was laid off. We said the same thing back then: The pay is below average, but at least our jobs are safe. Now layoffs are a constant thing. It creates a toxic culture. No one wants to work at USB anymore.

Working in the banking industry at all makes one not safe.

And, don't go one about credit unions because people are getting let go there too.

Coming from a company that had the regular 'we'll cut our way to profitability' mentality, I was drawn to U.S. Bank because the people interviewing me were all long-timers. Maybe the compensation packages weren't as good as the competition, but at least it was stable with the conservative attitude.

Now it's starting to feel just like my previous company, except now it's mediocre compensation AND the uncertainty of when someone so high up they have no idea what it takes to keep things running and believes they can cut or offshore their way to profitability, making it really hard to get anyone to want to work here.

If you are so safe, why are you even looking at this website?
