Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

RTO

Is there anyone who is remote or hybrid AND lives near a HUB location but not being required to RTO 3 days a week or at all? I've been hearing there are some teams that are remote and do live near HUBS but their managers have pushed back against RTO and now their team doesnt need to go in. Im beginning to think they just made this RTO announcement to make everyone think all are being treated "equal" so that hybrid employees and employees that cant work from home shut up about working remotely. It still seems like some teams are being allowed to make their own RTO decisions and no consequences for not returning 3 or more days a week.

I’m hybrid and I’ve been going in 3 days a week. You’ll be surprise how many hybrid people are not in the office at all! My neighbor I haven’t seen her once since January or ever. Some people I see them once a month. I know people who are hybrid but have been told by their managers they aren’t required to go in also.
Everyone just worry about yourself even if you don’t want to follow directions. For those who don’t go in at all just don’t be surprise if you get called out for it 😆

Any info for employees currently commuting to an office (40+ miles) but not in a hub city? When will the non-hub folks learn their fate?

I'm not on the Workforce Strategy Team. The general timing I heard from on an all-hands call. The return now 3+ days for assigned seats is mentioned in Working Together materials.

As far as remote employees nowhere near hubs, I don't know anything other than what is mentioned in the Working Together FAQs.

Thank you for information on hub. I have to come here to find out the next update on when I should hear update? Great communication. My manager doesn’t even know since she is in a different state.

Guess we will wait till July for next update and continue WFH like we have been doing for 4 years

Obviously this is from someone in Work Force Strategy team. If the would have just led with information it could have settled some down.

If you have an assigned seat in any building, you are supposed to return to office 3+ days a week and should be doing that now.

If you do not have an assigned seat in a building, do nothing at the moment. Planning for each hub is underway. For those in the Twin Cities with no current assigned desk, plans should be communicated in April. All other hub market employees should hear something in between late May and July, phased by market.

I too live near hub where the buildings was exiited from the Union Bank merger. I am told to go back to the office, but they don’t tell me where to go and manager doesn’t know either because she is also remote and work from home in the east coast. I am remote, but have RTO as part of performance goal. Makes no sense.

Nobody knows nuthin.

I live in a HUB metro area but nobody knows what buildings are even designated as work locations that people should be "returning" to. Some of us have been remote for almost 10 years and this whole effort is ridiculous especially for those of us who have no team members or anyone we collaborate with in our same time zone, much less the same metro area. My metro area formerly had a big Union Bank presence, but USB has already exited many of the former UB corporate office locations, or is in the process of doing so. I just don't ask, and keep working from home like I have for almost a decade. I do hope the leadership team's short-sighted view on RTO will "soften" as others have alluded to, especially in situations where there you still would not be co-located with people you work with, and would just be spending 3 hours a day of commute time to sit in a cubicle on Teams meetings with people from other time zones.

There is so much misinformation out there it’s ludicrous. There’s no dates on when hubs will be up and running, yet you’re required to go back now. There’s rumors floating around about customer facing and non-customer facing and who will beware but yet HR has made no decisions yet. if I were you, I’d drag my feet until somebody told me I had to be there

Does anybody have any insight on the comment below regarding the softening of RTO requirements?

Hopefully the previously mentioned “softening” rumors are true.

In particular for those of us that were deemed remote, and were have been working under the assumption that we would continue to be remote because that is the message that senior leadership has continuously given us before this whole RTO 180 slap in the face that came out of nowhere for remote folks.

Along with all of the previous messaging that allowing remote work had so many positives including be able to source talent from multiple locations, sell buildings, save costs, reduce carbon footprint. Again, the recent 180 illustrates the lack of consistency in communication.

I’m hybrid and close to a hub, but I haven’t been assigned to a workspace and I don’t have the performance goal in workday yet. I’ve been told it’s coming, but I’ve also been told that they might be softening the RTO requirements, so it seems like no one really knows what’s going on.

As of right now fully remote ppl don’t have the workday requirements. I haven’t been told to go in yet. But have been told it’s coming, at that point I’ll find another remote position else where.

They are staggering RTO for each HUB city. The 30 mile radius isn’t set in stone yet, it could be more or less based on traffic and access to public transit. I’d ask your manager for an official corporate communication status that you are to work out of the hub location given you live past the 39 mile mark. Your manager might be on a power trip and was not directed to have you return to office.

When does the RTO goal go in Workday? I am a remote employee but I was told by my manager to request a badge to work in office. I live 34 miles from a hub office. Are they staggering RTO for each hub?

I am hybrid and 10 mules from hub. I have that stupid 3 days a week in office on my goal. I have not gone back and don’t plan to. I will let them write me up first. It will probably be at least a year till they start writing people up for not meeting the 3 days in office garbage.
It’s very hard to fire someone, so they better do mass layoffs if their goal is to force us to quit and not pay severance
