When do they start letting people know?

Have been at TR over 20 years and it typically always is in November. Depends on the org, I always lost team members and coworkers right after Synergy and before Thanksgiving, as someone else said. Although it happened in April for a lot of people in 2021. Hints of changes/restructuring just started today for one segment. Also, I agree with the vacation payout response, except hourly employees in the US will still get paid out vacation next year, because they're not eligible for the new unlimited vacation.

What is LWD?

Earnings up across the board per 3rd quarter reporting. Layoffs incoming to squeeze in one more percentage point because 10% looks better than 9%.

Mid-November will have a bunch of notification activity.

Already started announcing some folks' exits with LWD as of Dec 30th. :)

That's just wishful thinking. There's no way they're not going to. None of the ELT cares about anything other than making the magic spreadsheet balances correctly. It doesn't matter how much it will set anything else back.

In outlier case that they don't, you can be 100% they'll pull an Elon early next year.

With all the open positions maybe they won't be laying off this holiday season.

Are you saying the third party service tips off TR to employees giving the worst scores. I pray you’re right bc I just gave them terrible scores.

All Hands topic "focus on people and performance". Basically saying we're gearing up for aggressive stack ranking next year to offset any loss of profits due to our poor decisions.

The OHI survey invite I received says it closes November 10. If history is any guide, that means layoffs will be announced on Friday, November 11, which is two weeks before Thanksgiving Friday.

They will let you know as you are setting the Thanksgiving turkey on your table. And because they provide severance, they think that's OK (until it happens to them).

I was given two weeks' notice before my last day, which was on the 23rd of November. I felt sad, relieved, and also happy because I no longer had anxiety from uncertainty: The uncertainty shifts from whether one has job security to finding a new job. The timing was not the ideal (What timing is, though?) because that same week was Thanksgiving.

Those who may be laid off this year will get paid for unused accrued PTO hours, unlike those who may get laid off after 2023 because of upcoming unlimited PTO.

I was also laid off November 15. It was done exactly as described by the previous poster. I was told my termination date and was required to work until my termination date in order to receive severance.

They’ve also historically done it before synergy so people are walking around knowing they don’t have a job after they represent the company to our users that week. You know, super logical timing

@3twp+1jh63DHG they don't care about any of that. All they care about is making sure the excel spreadsheet balances to the correct number to ensure executive bonus payouts. That's how this company works.

@2mzv+1jh63DHG That's exactly my point. We let people go who are in the middle of working on annual/end of year projects mid-stream. Let ppl go in Sept/Oct and have the unfortunate souls who are staying start them afresh. And actually there are a few who actually work till the last day, put up a brave face and orderly transistion workflows.

The week before thanksgiving. It gives you something to talk about over the holiday.

@2kjs+1jh63DHG I can't see expecting anyone who gets laid off to care how a project transitions. And at the holidays, the only ones who will care about projects being transitioned are newer people who still think they might have a career at TR and are "eager" to demonstrate their "capabilities."

They should do these in Oct. Everyone’s super busy in Nov, ppl you let go are almost certainly working on a project that will have to be decoded/taken over by an associate.

It was November 15 for me. My manager sent a meeting invitation about 5 pm the day before. The entire message was the subject line, “Business Update.” It was an in-person meeting for the next morning, no other invitees listed, but the location was an HR office so I knew what was up. Otherwise, it went pretty much like the “check-in” reply said.

You’ll get a meeting invite from your manager after business hours. The meeting title will be “Check In” and will be scheduled for the next morning. When you join the meeting, your manager and HR will be on. Your manager will read a 30 second script and drop off. HR will recap the severance pay. You then exit the call and celebrate- you are free at last!

They'll start telling people in a few weeks. Gotta have the all-hands meetings first saying everything is looking good, but we gotta remain tight for the remainder of the year.

Usually around thanksgiving. That’s been the time for the last 2 times I was told.

There will be for sure layoffs this year. No doubt about it. They don’t quite have a total amount yet but I’m sure they are starting to count.

FindLaw small and mid are merging. And that by itself means redundancies. Overlapping sales territories and account management roles. Not all of those will remain. Yes there are openings, but that doesn’t mean those who are here want to to fill those spots.
