Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Reorganization Rumors

I have heard lots of talk lately of reorganization. The interesting thing about it is that the comments have a pattern of things returning to the way they were structured prior to V2.0. Lots of ideas on reversing past shifts in roles and responsibilities, and returning to a structure that better defines Engineering and Craft. It sounds like some of the new management positions created during Hans tenure in support of the new Verizon image are getting a closer look. The company is realizing that the imposed ideals are hurting not helping the bottom line. It looks like the old wireline sang of the closer your job is to dial tone the more secure it is could just be coming back. This also goes for wireless. Serious looks at management structure and efficiencies due to the past poor performance driven by yes men mentality. Plenty of finger pointing going on right now. ESS Survey information is being seriously scrutinized. Company survival is driving serious discussions on the need to laser focus on getting the business back to basics. Big changes are coming! Time will only tell if they were the right decisions or not.

@3uil+1hYOSoRQ You hit the nail on the head. When Hans took the job I had multiple friends that follow the industry tell me things were going to be going downhill fast with Hans. He’s a disease. Been here 20+ years and this is the most dysfunctional I’ve ever seen this company.

“2.0 is a beautiful creation” 🙄 this dude is snorting the red Verizon dust, being sarcastic or is one of these so called great leaders he speaks of. 😂

  1. 0 is a beautiful creation. It just needs more time to develop. I would venture to say the current leadership rivals any corporation in the NYSE.

Something is coming, and it’s coming soon.

I don’t know what, other than there is a highly confidential change that is being communicated to people leaders this week.

We know once people leaders are told, it’ll be effective pretty quickly. I’d say Thursday or Friday of this week there will be some sort of announcement.

Verizon is following in the footsteps of Curcuit City. Never should have went mostly indirect, never should have outsourced IT and other positions overseas, never should have went with vendor call center reps, never should have gotten rid of individual commission, never should have undervalued textured employees and never should have hired a man that already destroyed one company etc...it's almost as if those who chose him did so on purpose knowing it would destroy Verizon. I've said it before and I will say it again. Mark my words, all these changes will be the end of Verizon.

The agent transformation thing was laughable. 2 years and they couldn't even get the pilot store to work.

Do you really think rebranding is going to change anything here.It is all smoke and mirrors.who is the smart one that thought of that v2.0...

The last re-org was the worst ever. Combining retail and indirect to be on same team didn’t work. Time for them to admit they were wrong. Also, some id--t ops people had call today to tell us Agent Transformation wasn’t going to happen. No sh!t Sherlock. This company is getting d-mber by the minute. It took a team of people 2 years to figure out that their agent transformation idea wasn’t going work. Everyone in indirect was scratching their heads saying “now how are they going to do that? Do they actually even know how things work in indirect?”

To comply with all the esg woke criteria this is an additional and significant investment the company has to make to prove to the left wing groups that we are a socially conscientious company. We have esg consultants and firms that track our esg-ness.
I think we can all agree it’s important to be supportive of diversity and the environment but it has gone too far and has become a financial burden on companies.

Sweden has like 70% union membership nationally. Swedes are pro union.

Two clueless CEOs in a row have been a devastating blow to the bottom line. Lowell was just a greedy, soulless 🤡 and picking Hans was just silly at best. He has been great to the union, however, so I'm sure the wireline people like having a CEO who doesn't even have a good grasp on the English language and extended the contract twice after Lowell tried his best to destroy the union and failed miserably at that, as well as everything else. Lowell was a 🤡, Hans is a pushover.

You can reorg all you want. But until you unload most of the bone head c-suite and svp and vps that don't offer anything. Nothing will change. Vz is great for saying a reorg but just playing musical chairs. We already been downgraded from a buy to a hold because 5g hasn't panned out yet. Most of the use cases you see are smoke and mirror bs to keep marketing and network people with jobs. That needs to change. Will it. Prob not.

It's all this wasted time trying to make every area work the same. All thse vzb people from Texas who don't know enough about what happens on the east coast and how it works. Years wasted and millions on bad IT tech that doesn't work mostly because no one is in charge. MyLady is one of the major problems what has he said that has worked out. 5g cost so great because we did not buy the correct spectrum. Last 7 years have set us up Horribly

Recently, within the tenure of the current CEO, simply a disaster. This cannot continue.
What is the Board of Directors, doing and/or accomplishing??
Given, it is the economy stupid, however, there have had to be contingency plans, for all scenarios, loss of customers to leaner competition not saddled with expensive union issues and the Federal Reserve's transitory inflation.
The C-Suite needs an immediate complete overhaul.
The Board of Directors' needs an immediate overhaul.
The Board of Directors' needs to scrap all ESG initiatives.
The Board of Director's needs to implement an immediate transition plan for CEO succession.
The Board of Directors' needs to find a CEO candidate who understands the US consumer and US competitive landscape.

I agree with some of this. The yesman culture is absolutely rampant. I don't think the ESG cr-p is going anywhere, that is coming from Wall Street and happening lots of places not just here. I'm not sure who made the call in the mmwave 5g but that was a disaster.
