Makes sense that the most productive, successful and talented Business Units would have the least cut, but I don't know about 0%. That seems a bit optimistic.

0% in GOMBU. GOMBU will flourish.

@3vwe, well approximately 50% of those types will be cut, as they are generally the least productive. You know, the whole corporate and fossil fuel hatred thing and all.

Many democrat/liberals work at Chevron and at least 2 of them have posted here, especially the person using 'dotard', a favorite liberal word. Well, you can join the green energy economy after your involuntary departure.

If @3kjl is an example of the intelligence level of a decent percentage of CVX employees then the selection will be a cakewalk for management. Just sayin'.

@2mjh is obviously a member of the dotard “I got mine, f all y’all” contingent. Don’t worry, there is going to be a reckoning for those a-holes.

@2mjh, Speak for yourself only, dear, yours are virtues that I am happy not to possess. I would be happy to let someone have my job so that a mother or father can support their family while I live the relatively luxurious life that I do now which others only dream about, mr. foot stench.

Just more virtue signaling. If you are so willing to give up your job, then why not just quit right now? Why not quit a month ago? You are soooooo financially secure. What happens if you are not laid off? Will you do the virtuous thing and quit? The answer to everything is 'No'. You will be thankful that some other person is now unemployed.

No, that is not what matters unless you are a purely selfish individual. I am doing quite fine financially and if someone else really needs to maintain their position to support a struggling family, I would hope that they get to keep their job, not me, I couldn't give a frogs butt.

Who cares what the percentage is as long as you are not cut. Isn't that all that really matters?

They need to cut 100% of the useless deadwood or the company will not prosper.

I can guarantee if you are on a Chevron poster with your dad on a $20,000 vacation posing with a fish and your dad is a VP, you will have a job. I can guarantee you that all of the children of executives and ex-executives will be safe. I can guarantee if you are the spouse of an executive, you will have a job. I am a non-exempt employee. Can you imagine what $20,000 means to me? Nepotism Nepotism Nepotism. I would be embarrassed to take a job if I had a family member that was an executive or a senior leader. Shameful. It truly shows that they can not find a job on their own and they will always hang on the coat tail of their parents and spouses. And yes, the ugly side of a reorg is starting to show its ugly head. It is who you know and who you are related to that will get you a slot in the new Chevron.

What is WPL? Is it workplace? Oh great, I know all the brown-nosers try and demonstrate ‘performance’ with it. I need to up my posts, 😆

Want to know who will go first? The s*ckers who like every post in WPL, there is a count on that too. The next ones? Those who don’t like anything in WPL. Oh, and don’t forget about the ones who like to pontificate for 5’ before asking a question in a townhall, got to nail them too! At the end, who is safe? Right, nobody.

It's good to have connections and friends in any industry, in every line of work. It's basically how business works and how the world goes 'round as they say pretty much EVERYWHERE. What is amazing is how many people here think that is almost exclusively a "Chevron" thing. Many of you really DO need to experience the world, another role, another industry, anything.

My guess is for 2 big headcount cuts of 10% or more each (20% total) for people who don't have solid connections. There will be a few managers, supervisors and team leads included. Make sure that your connection, if you have one, is not on the cut list. This downturn is going to last a long time, like over a year.

PDC favoritism along with SCM favoritism and nepotism. SCM thrives in friendship, nepotism and relationships instead of the experienced knowledgeable employees. Managers have a tendency to overlook experience for lip service supplied by networkers instead of workers. Hopefully I will not lose my job during the current downturn. I am a 40 year employee.

You hit the nail on the head with 0% with the friends of the PDC Reps and just include the whole click thing! If you are not “IN” then you will be “OUT”!

I think 10% is dramatic enough. How quickly we hire additional employees post-reduction (my guess is 18 months)

50%. ? Sounds a bit extreme to me. In light of the pandemic, I can see it increasing to 15-20% but I would be shocked at 50%.

If anything, I can see chevron picking up a few fire sales from one of these other less stable struggling gas companies. We will see what happens.

The US industry average is expected to be 25% in 2020. Chevron will choose the average. Workers could be 50% in many groups. Managers 2% cut and friends of PDC reps 0%.

50% minimum is my guess. Can’t trust them to not cut to the bone. Considering different careers. I’m still young. My parents always wanted me to be a real doctor ;)
