Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Which groups will be impacted?

There are more and more rumors about layoffs, but there are not many insights about who will be the target? Any thoughts?
I don’t worry much because I’m prepared, and even if I get laid off I would avoid the ridiculous RTO plan. On the other hand, I don’t know anyone who after CS didn’t go to a company that cares more about people.

@4loa+1aJCPJ3a darn. maybe me leaking the secret number 75 will cause Dennis to personally lay me off. Not likely. I wouldn't be so lucky.

Different emails to different groups or no email. Hmmm that is transparency at its best ;)

Folks you realize that they sent out different emails to different groups of people with slightly different numbers right? Most of us got different numbers of affected people, while some got no email at all. The range of numbers are between 65 and 105. Congrats to the individuals that posted 75 and others that confirmed that. You are now tagged as posters on this site.

@3tmb+1aJCPJ3a I also read It as 75 total. It says right in the announcement "75 colleagues across the company". A smaller number than previous rounds but appears to be 75 total affected.

@3dpk+1aJCPJ3a I read that as 75 total, including STS, rather than 75 in STS. Maybe I am mistaken, though, since 75 for a company-wide layoff seems pretty minor.

Organizational email said 75 in STS were let go today and "we wish them well with their future endeavors." And "This was hard for us. A tough decision." Ouch. I feel for them.

Schwab RTO - no masks required at workstations, no planned changes to office layouts, most people returning to work in the office by October (I think). Starting in July w/ volunteers. There is also some "tiering" that will be applied but as far as I know, no one knows what roles will align to which tier yet.

I left Schwab and RTO with another company 3 days a week. What’s Schwab RTO? Just curious. Problem in lone tree was that the hallways are so narrow and cubicles so close to each other. If someone sneezes in the cubicle across to you, you could hold a tissue to their nose without having to get up.
