Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I work in ADAS; should I expect to get laid off this upcoming year?

Unsure of what to make of it. I work in ADAS and have the HTHD designation

@4nls+1qdp44lo check out the recent story in the det news or freep that a tail light on an F150 costs 5+ grand to repair due to all the sensors. there's your ADAS for you. the average person cant afford the upkeep, even if he can afford the super low mileage lease payments. he certainly cant afford the buy payments.

@4nls+1qdp44lo. Too late. The only wow customers are getting is "Wow, that is a lot of money for such a low quality product."

ADAS still has a place in the Ford company transformation, but not as significant as once appeared. Safety features have stagnated over the past few years. The market is more driven towards features and services that delight customers and bring them into Model e mobility products. It's just the truth like it or not. We need to focus on wow-ing the customer. Legacy safety features and legacy vehicles (Ford Blue) will not accomplish that

Joining BYD or NIO? Are you crazy?

Because Sauron is powerful, so Saruman the White joins him, and this is how joining BYD or NIO will be! Unable to see it or unable to admit will bring the downfall to yourself.

I am one of the extremely few on this forum driving both the high-end BYD and NIO. They are strong (along with Xpeng and LI) But remember, they were made with malicious intent from an economy system bred by evil and exploitation. Good people shall not join them.

Free people are weak in automotive industry these days, but there is always hope

Regretfully I have to admit NIO and BYD (plus Li and Xpeng) are strong, but unable to see their malice or unwilling to admit is your downfall.

Yes, you will be gone. How else will our execs pay for the huge UAW raises? It certainly won't come out of their salaries. My recommendation is to find a job at one of the Chinese OEMs like Nio or BYD because no one, least of all the Detroit 3, will be able to compete with them once they start selling $15k long range EVs here in the US (imported from Mexico)

I was given an HTHD raise in 2022 and fired in June 2023.

And I agree, the economy of the world is teetering on the edge. Governments all over the world have been trying to print their way out of economic incompetence. Just read Zerohedge.

2024 layoffs will begin in earnest as the economy implodes on itself. Buckle up.

@atx if you just realize that people cares only about their own a$$ then you're naive.
everyone is looking out for themselves. no one give a shi%% about anyone else's job. do you not read the anger on here about LLC's and H1B taking away their jobs... they hope you loose your job.

and no layoffs are not performance driven... it's random and it's inevitable like death and taxes. but if the OP is HTHD = high tech high demand... if he is in such high demand then why does he worry about any job. or maybe he realize that he is really not high demand and just getting a title.

"are you assuming that layoffs are performance driven? I’m personally using the break to apply for jobs. I have zero faith in my LL. All he cares about is his own a-s. Visa situation makes it scarier. "

if you are high demand, you should not have to worry about loosing your job, you should be able to get a job anywhere. that's what high demand means.
