Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

After the VSP

For those not opting to go, make sure you are "all in" /s

Personally, I think this is going to become a scary(ier) place post-VSP.
Thoughts?

All well and good speaking about the Business expectations for those who remain, but they need to share what the future looks like, what don’t know what we don’t know

@4wjr+1sSjAZ6M So what’s the point to offer an enhanced package if there is going to be a major RIF in 4Q anyways? If this holds any truth, anyone on the fence about pressing the button should just wait to be RIFed in 4Q since they’ll still be entitled to the enhanced package …

My boss said they are folding in Value and all the prepaid tracks into wireless to create One Verizon. Q4 will have large RIFs affecting all departments. A new Life product will ensure the remaining employees have no life. If you’re not at a major hub take the package or you will be riffed just like AT&T did when they forced people to move on their own dime.

@1xta+1sSjAZ6M is a union troll. They come here to beg for their EISP that never comes. They are all lifers bound by their union contracts. Slaves to the Swedish Meatball.

So if they want to be under 100k employees according to the earlier post they may only accept 5-10k who volunteer

I didn’t take the last one because I had just moved and figured if I could make it 18 months i’d be better off or something. It was just a huge mistake to stay and I’m not making the same mistake again.

I don't know anyone who declined the last VSP who is happier at VZ now... I don't expect things to get better after this one. If you stay, save your money!

I am betting that selling off all stores to indirects accept for select flagship stores is a part of the endgame. Alot of payroll that’s not selling any margin items in an established smartphone economy. More partnerships with Best Buy, WalMart and Amazon coming.

One comment. If you consider your place of employment scary, please do yourself a favor and leave for a betterfit. I promise you that there is a happier employment out there. I speak from experience. Good luck, whatever your decision.

After the last VSP my workgroup became unpleasant to put it mildly. So glad I won’t be left behind this time.

They are going to turn engineering upside down.

We'll definitely be below 100K by the end of 2024.
As far as an end game, I don't believe they have one.

There will be a major re-org in all dept's after the VSP

This has happened before. It is usually right before a massive reorg and then subsequent RIFs due to redundancy. The organization will always deliver to the street.
