In re this post:.... hello boomer - talking on the phone, using a physical whiteboard, having one off meetings to clear up confusion (which ironically creates more confusion than asking the same questions to the whole group)..... yeah, let's promote 'the way we've always done it' because nothing says innovation and progress like holding on to the past.....
@5ddy+1m7VCP1K Sure, perhaps the group meetings might be via Zoom at first. But the follow up meetings that require communication one-on-one will most likely be in-person. Faster to communicate in person and make sure you understand each other using perhaps even a white board, then talking over the phone where you are constantly guessing what the other person meant. And if you are unsure when you communicate in person, you can ask again and again right there and then to make sure both are in sync.
Faster to communicate in person? The comment you responded to pointed out that most of us are in different locations, so how would it be faster to get together around a physical whiteboard when I'm in the US and my mates are in the UK/India? How does that work exactly? We all book flights to London, and our UK mate reserves a room w/a whiteboard so that we can swiftly discuss the meeting that happened.... how long ago by the time we can all meet in the same location?
Yeah, so why not have those one off calls on zoom and use the whiteboard feeture or one of the virtual whiteboards we already have available. Seems like a faster way to meet - or are you not sharing that you've mastered the teleport capabilities that make your suggestion viable ;-) Better yet, let's ask questions in the main call so everybody is on the same page...
Also - if a group meeting requires follow up b/c people are not clear, then the meeting/communication is the problem, not the location of the people. If you can't solve a problem in tech by using the tech our company pays for, why are you even here?
